StarLadder has officially announced that it will host the second Counter-Strike 2 Major of 2025 in Budapest, Hungary. The tournament is scheduled to take place from December 11 to 14, 2025, at the MVM Dome, a venue with a seating capacity of 20,000. Competition for the event begins on November 24, with the top 32 teams from around the world competing for a total prize pool of $1.25 million USD.
This event represents a significant milestone for StarLadder following its acquisition by the South Asia-based esports and gaming festival company NODWIN Gaming in January 2025. The acquisition was valued at an initial $5.5 million USD, with additional earn-out targets in place. Despite the change in ownership, StarLadder founder and CEO Roman Romantsov continues to lead the organization’s operations alongside the existing staff.
The selection of Budapest as the host city underscores the organizer's intent to leverage the MVM Dome to deliver a high-profile, large-scale live experience. By securing this Major, StarLadder aims to demonstrate its continued relevance and operational capacity within the global competitive gaming landscape under its new corporate structure. Tickets for the various stages of the tournament are currently available to the public.
