Roblox Revenue Hit $92 Million Last Quarter on Mobile

Roblox demonstrated significant financial momentum in the third quarter of 2018, generating $92 million in worldwide mobile revenue. This figure represents an 87 percent year-over-year increase, continuing a trend of consistent quarterly growth that has persisted since the third quarter of 2015. By the end of this period, the platform had achieved a cumulative lifetime gross revenue of approximately $486 million across the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The platform’s performance in the mobile gaming sector remains robust, securing a global revenue ranking of 28th among all mobile applications during the quarter. This performance reflects an 8 percent sequential increase in gross revenue compared to the second quarter of 2018. These estimates are derived from Sensor Tower’s Store Intelligence platform, which tracks performance metrics across the global mobile ecosystem.

Geographically, the United States and Great Britain serve as the primary drivers of the platform's financial success, accounting for 67 percent and 10 percent of total revenue, respectively. While the United States also leads in user acquisition with 35 percent of total downloads, Brazil represents a significant secondary market for user growth, contributing 9 percent of the platform's 175 million total lifetime downloads. These findings underscore the platform's ability to maintain high monetization levels while expanding its global user base across diverse international markets.
