Roblox experienced significant financial growth in the first quarter of 2019, driven by strong performance in the mobile gaming sector. Global player spending on the platform reached $107 million during this period, representing a 40 percent increase compared to the same quarter in the previous year, when revenue stood at $76.6 million. This upward trajectory also reflects a 17 percent growth rate when measured against the fourth quarter of 2018.
The analysis, based on data from the Apple App Store and Google Play, highlights the platform's robust market position. Globally, Roblox ranked as the 18th highest-grossing game and the 23rd highest-grossing app overall for the quarter. Within the United States, the platform achieved even higher prominence, securing the third position for game spending and the seventh position for overall app revenue. The United States remains the primary market for the title, contributing 67 percent of total quarterly revenue, or approximately $71.7 million, while Great Britain followed as the second-largest market with $7.5 million.
These figures contribute to a broader historical success for the sandbox MMO, which has accumulated an estimated $700 million in global mobile revenue to date. With over 227 million all-time downloads, the platform continues to demonstrate sustained engagement through its user-generated content model. The findings rely on proprietary store intelligence estimates to track consumer spending trends across international mobile markets during the early months of 2019.
