Key Program. The 'LEC Roadtrip' is a new pilot initiative for 2025 to enhance fan engagement through localized, in-person showdays.
Riot Games has introduced the LEC Roadtrip, a new pilot initiative for the 2025 League of Legends EMEA Championship season designed to enhance fan engagement through localized, in-person showdays. By collaborating directly with participating organizations, the league aims to bring professional competition closer to regional fanbases, supplementing the standard tournament schedule without replacing the traditional annual LEC Roadshow held at the conclusion of the Summer Split.
The initiative launches in the Spring Split with two primary events hosted by prominent esports organizations. The first stop is scheduled for April 26–27 in Madrid, Spain, hosted by Movistar KOI, featuring matchups between Movistar KOI, G2 Esports, GIANTX, and Fnatic. The second event will take place May 10–11 in Les Arènes, France, hosted by Karmine Corp, with competition involving G2 Esports, SK Gaming, and Team Vitality. Both host organizations are responsible for managing ticket sales and coordinating additional fan-focused festivities.
These events will be integrated into the official 2025 LEC broadcast schedule and will be accessible via co-stream partner channels. By leveraging the passionate fanbases of teams like Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp, the initiative seeks to provide more opportunities for live, in-person viewership across the EMEA region. This pilot program reflects a strategic effort by Riot Games to decentralize the competition experience and strengthen community ties within key European markets.
