Gamecity Hamburg
Gamecity Hamburg organizes the initiative as a professional development event. It provides constructive, expert-led feedback on pitch decks.
Gamecity Hamburg announced the 2024 edition of Pitch Level Up, a one-day event held on February 16, 2024, from 11 am to 6 pm at SPACE in Hamburg, Germany. The initiative aims to help games developers refine pitch decks and project presentations for publishers, media, investors, and funding institutions, on the premise that a convincing pitch is essential when negotiating for a game project or prototype.
The core format consists of one-on-one feedback sessions in 30-minute slots: participants present their pitch for 10 minutes and then receive 20 minutes of individual feedback. Sessions are framed as a "safe space" where developers can get candid, constructive input from professionals who have seen hundreds of pitches, without jeopardizing future opportunities with real stakeholders. Participants choose among experts to gain varied perspectives, and tickets for feedback sessions had to be secured by February 11 so organizers could match teams with their preferred reviewers.
Nine experts were confirmed at announcement, with more to be added. They include business development consultants and independent industry consultants, representatives from publishers and industry organizations such as Daedalic Entertainment, Assemble Entertainment, and Super Crowd Entertainment's Indie Arena Booth, and Gamecity Hamburg leadership, including its head, who sits on the Prototype Funding Committee, and a Games Lift Incubator project manager.
A supplementary talk program, focused on how to finance a game project, runs alongside the sessions. It serves developers whose pitches are not yet ready or who want to use the waiting time between appointments, and talk-only tickets were available until February 15. The event is a return of the 2023 edition, and the page's related news indicates it continued into 2026, when it drew over 80 participants.
