Canadian esports organization OverActive Media has expanded its commercial portfolio through a new partnership with the gaming lifestyle brand Blacklyte and the renewal of a long-standing agreement with gaming peripherals manufacturer SCUF Gaming. These deals, announced in January 2024, aim to bolster the organization’s marketing and content capabilities across its professional esports assets, including the Toronto Ultra Call of Duty League team.
The collaboration with Blacklyte, a Canadian company specializing in gaming furniture and lighting, grants the brand naming rights to OverActive’s Creator Lab content studio. Additionally, the partnership includes social media marketing, broadcast integrations, and on-site activations at the Toronto Ultra Major III tournament scheduled for the spring of 2024. Simultaneously, the renewal with SCUF Gaming continues a relationship established in 2020, designating the company as the official controller and accessory partner for Toronto Ultra.
These partnerships serve to strengthen the commercial infrastructure supporting OverActive Media’s competitive teams, which currently compete in the Call of Duty League, the Overwatch Champions Series, and the League of Legends EMEA Championship. While the specific financial terms of these agreements remain undisclosed, the move aligns with the organization’s broader strategy of scaling its global esports reach, which includes recent efforts to acquire assets from Movistar Riders and KOI. These new and renewed deals complement an existing roster of high-profile sponsors, including Bell, Red Bull, and Dell, further solidifying the organization's position within the North American and international esports landscape.
