The Call of Duty League franchise has rebranded as the Carolina Royal Ravens following its relocation.
The Call of Duty League franchise formerly known as the London Royal Ravens has officially relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, and rebranded as the Carolina Royal Ravens. This strategic move marks the conclusion of the Call of Duty League’s presence in Europe, as the organization shifts its operations entirely to the North American market. The decision follows a period of evaluation that included potential relocations to other international hubs such as Madrid, Mexico City, and Washington, D.C.
Owned by Infinite Reality, the franchise underwent this transition following significant internal restructuring. Notably, the company’s Chief Gaming Officer, Michael O’Dell, departed the organization in June 2023. O’Dell had previously been instrumental in managing the London Royal Ravens and KOI Esports following the 2022 acquisition of ReKTGlobal by Infinite Reality in an all-stock deal valued at $470 million.
The relocation reflects broader trends within the Call of Duty League, which has seen previous European-based teams move to the United States, such as the transition of the Paris Legion to the Vegas Legion. By establishing a permanent base in North Carolina, the Carolina Royal Ravens aim to solidify their competitive presence within the North American esports landscape.
