OG Esports announced the departure of long-time CEO JMR Luna in February 2023. The transition, which took effect immediately, followed several months of internal discussions and considerations. While the organization did not provide a specific reason for the exit, the parting is characterized as an amicable conclusion to a tenure that began in May 2020.
During his more than two-and-a-half-year tenure, Luna oversaw significant growth for the European organization, which maintains a prominent global presence in the Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitive scenes. As a two-time World Dota 2 Champion, OG Esports remains a high-profile entity in the industry. Luna, who previously held roles at Immortals and Evil Geniuses, expressed gratitude toward the organization’s leadership, staff, and fanbase for their support during his time in the role.
Moving forward, the organization plans to maintain its current strategic trajectory under the guidance of its existing leadership team, including key figures Johan "N0tail" Sundstein and Sébastien "Ceb" Debs. The company intends to continue its focus on competitive success, community engagement, and content production, specifically citing the expansion of the OG Monkey Business Show as a priority for the 2023 calendar year.
