Create free accountforeign [Music] how are you doing today hi James um it's great to be here again and that pocket Democrats in London so I'm feeling good fantastic always happy to be here ourselves now we've spoken to Xolo over the years at various different of the PGC events but we can't assume everyone's watched those videos so what is Xolo what do you folks do uh happy to answer this uh we are a video game Commerce company and we are helping developers and monetizing distributing and marketing their games around the globe I think one of the key Solutions we have and we are known for is payments so we have our clients to solve uh on there and the monetization struggle they may have and and offering more than 700 payment methods around the globe that really sets us apart and this is where
our um where core audience and USB lights and that's interesting actually we were out in Jordan last year and we were talking about monetization within the main region and how it differs significantly and how a lot of it is Cash based versus digital transfers you know around the rest of the world so as you cover Global is that something you notice are there lots of different like variations in each region that you have to account for oh yes that's for sure so um there's hundreds of different Payment Solutions and this can include uh cash to to wallet Solutions and also you have with the grown digitalization you see more wallets more payment methods coming up and yeah solving some of the problems for the players and this is where we can help our clients uh to evolve to progress for example to enter into new markets where they haven't been able to monetize people beforehand and that's really uh the key and core of obedient the developers that you deal with how
aware are they of that both the options and the opportunities for different monetizations but also the pitfalls and the problems before they come to you how where are they I think do you have a a full variety of each and everyone because we're working uh from India level to Enterprise level so you have a great differentiation in terms of knowledge within the companies the companies naturally depending on how big they are how long they are are already working and and expanding and this is where we can help depending on the on a knowledge level and for sure you have way more specific conversations about specific regions for example on how to enter them how to monetize them with mid-tier to to Enterprise other clients but it's also interesting to share and educate the Indie level um Publishers and developers on what kind of opportunities later just in general when it comes to building the
campaigns with the client how much data are you sharing with them and how much are you kind of keeping the data not keeping it back but looking at the data analyzing it and then giving them the bullet points if you like some people are a bit more opaque and black boxy about their data but equally there's a kind of information overload you can do on people which isn't helpful either so where do you fall between those two I think what turned out in the last couple of years is that getting more data aggregate more data makes a lot of sense to make our proper decisions for your businesses and yeah get a good set of different kpis who want to look at it and on our end what we are in Savor and what we have our clients to do is going for example with our mobile our website for Mobile Solutions we are here with I'm talking about pocket camera connects is to set up a direct to Consumer strategy because this holds the additional value and besides controlling the the revenue stream you're also getting more data points uh more
knowledge to better interact and get to know your players in the end and this is something super valuable where you might yeah have this as internal source or available so that's data we talk about when clients approach you and maybe they've tried a certain form of monetization or they've attempted an ad campaign and it's not worked out in your experience what have they been doing wrong what's the thing that they are missing why are their games failing or they're not making much money I think one key element and one one uh key question coming up or a response we receive in those conversations is that many of them especially when they are already met your Enterprise companies they already tried out a couple of uh things in different regions but payments doing and acting uh this on a global level this is super complex and I said there's more than seven numbered payment methods we provide so you can think of is you go into contracts with 700
payment providers that's a lot of work going into this and then you also need to consider that you'll stay of data compliant so that you are um data compliant and all the specific regions you going to sell and distribute and this is some of the complexity we take off from our clients and this is where a lot of the yeah the value in our service later it not sure and what do you ask your clients to provide you how when they're when you're building a campaign for them or getting information what do they need to provide so that you can make the correct call I think the best way or but the best scenario is that they really specifically know where they have their pain points so we can really dive into this and see how we can bring our service to their help to solve their problems there so the better you know where you're where your problem is the better we can help and in general we can give a good overview on Advocate on
how to monetize and how to work with payments and so on but really if you know where your pain points are this is the best way for us to get in and really help on on the specific issue to be solved what about 2023 for you folks I think we talked about last year what what you guys have been working on and the climate has shifted so much during the pandemic and everyone suddenly jumped onto their phones for two years because there's nothing else to do and now the world's opened up again and the economy's misbehaving I would like to say a little bit um what is it that exalta's looking for in 2023 how are you adapting to the new landscape well thank God the first thing to to take away is that one star 2022 things were opening up again we came back to in-person meetings again this was something each and everyone really cherished and and flourished and we can see it here today again like it's it's just how we humans like to interact at least from time to time to get together being personal uh personal conversations
uh face to face uh so that's a great thing our wall and looking at um at the economics right now we can set up the up we can clearly see that we are a little bit maybe behind um the peak of a hype curve so to say and um we believe that the businesses overall they will grow for sure so there's a lot of gross potential still now we have a little bit of setback that's for sure and H1 was looking more closely at what they want to do um but the shots will help to shift change and determine how the future will look like and also how we use utilize um technology in the future right foreign [Music]
The global video game commerce landscape is defined by extreme fragmentation, particularly regarding monetization and payment infrastructure. Developers face significant hurdles when attempting to scale internationally, as regional preferences vary from digital wallet systems to cash-based transactions. To address these complexities, service providers offer centralized solutions that integrate over 700 global payment methods, effectively removing the administrative and legal burden of managing individual contracts and regional data compliance requirements for developers ranging from independent studios to enterprise-level organizations.
A primary strategic shift in the current market involves the transition toward direct-to-consumer models. By bypassing traditional gatekeepers, developers gain greater control over revenue streams and access to critical player data. This data-driven approach allows studios to better understand their user base and optimize monetization strategies. However, success in this area requires a precise understanding of specific operational pain points. Developers who clearly identify their bottlenecks—whether in regional market entry, payment processing, or user acquisition—are significantly better positioned to leverage external expertise to resolve these issues.
While the industry experienced a period of rapid, pandemic-driven growth, the current economic climate is characterized by a more cautious approach to investment and expansion. Despite this cooling of the post-pandemic hype cycle, the long-term outlook for the sector remains positive. The focus for 2023 and beyond centers on operational efficiency, the strategic application of technology, and the return to in-person professional engagement to foster business development. Ultimately, the ability to navigate complex global payment ecosystems while maintaining a clear, data-informed strategy remains the most vital factor for sustainable growth in the modern gaming market.
