The event will take place during the World Esports Summit in Busan, South Korea.
Esports Insider (ESI) has secured the International Esports Federation (IESF) as the presenting partner for the 2023 ESI Hall of Fame. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 28, 2023, during the World Esports Summit in Busan, South Korea. While the financial terms of the partnership remain undisclosed, the collaboration marks a significant alignment between the UK-based media company and the global governing body.
The 2023 ceremony will recognize industry contributors across four distinct categories: Hall of Famer, Rising Industry Star, Community Champion, and Youth Champion. These awards aim to honor individuals who have made substantial impacts on the professional and grassroots esports ecosystems. The event builds upon the legacy of previous inductees, including prominent figures such as Jason Lake, Heather Garozzo, Mike Sepso, and Sue Lee.
The partnership highlights the growing international scope of ESI’s event portfolio and the IESF’s active role in global industry engagement. The World Esports Summit, which serves as the venue for the ceremony, historically draws a diverse audience of stakeholders from the esports, sports, and government sectors, with the 2022 edition hosting approximately 150 attendees and 40 speakers. This agreement represents the second recent collaboration between the two organizations, following a joint effort at ESI London in October 2023. The IESF is currently led by HRH Prince Faisal, who also holds leadership positions within the Saudi Esports Federation and the Global Esports Federation, reflecting the increasing influence of Saudi-backed initiatives within the broader international esports landscape.
