Create free account[Music] [Music] well there we go so yeah my name is Dan and Olson I'm the founder of alderman games it's a hundred percent in a game studio and self-funded so we're we're stationed in Stockholm today started in Sweden 2007 and in my own town a couple of now hours north of Stockholm and it was basically all me back then but today a five five staff team so we're a small team of very talented people and we're located in Stockholm and with office next to - to the Royal Castle in Old Town and we create and we work on the clear vision sniper game series it's got
my old flash version of the game have about 100 million place and my mobile versions have a roughly 35 million installs on on ios and android 1.6 million reviews on the App Store's with a pretty pretty high average score so the games have been doing pretty well so far and we're working on a new game called provisional line estimated release is this summer there I'm gonna show you some footage of that game at the end of the at the end of the slide so so how it all started for me and I used to play a lot of football and I was aspiring to become a professional football player back in Sweden so I put I put all my energy in all my dedication into you know all time to practice football I have a twin brother and we used to you know kick football all the time so and here's a picture of where I was part of the elite team in in my hometown and but the one day when I was
also 17 actually so I started having this lower pain back in the back and I was started having pain in my lower back and I was I remember I was writing a test in school and I was like starting sweating a little and it was it's starting have a weird pain in my lower back and that night when I was asleep I woke up and I was in a lot of pain I was all sweaty and with a really high fever and I ended up in hospital and well end up in hospital and fighting for my life and I had gotten some kind of a bacteria entering my my bloodstream probably from from a wound that I had in my heel from practicing too much football and so I ended up there and I was in a lot of discomfort and and I was a morphine 24 24 hours a day my dad was mean with me the whole time and he lost more weight than I did so he lost more than 10 kgs and one part was there every day and so it was a rough
time and afterwards I was it was quite kind of kind of uncertain if I was gonna be able to play football but it was during that time of rehab when I couldn't walk in the beginning but eventually I started walking started playing football again and but it was during that time or rehab because I was in quite a quite in a dark place hi nice idea of a game because I had been active in in like forums in animation forums I was very interested in animation and so I had inspiration for a game idea and I sort of had to start to learn programming and stuff like that to make it a reality and I did that was like the light that I had in my life it was it was like all I was thinking about like the morning I woke up I thought about this game and when I was going to sleep I thought about that game and that game was the very first first game of the clear vision series released back in 2007 the flash game and that was part of the that was one of the games have been played over 100 million times on on the
flash portals of the time so and I also discovered that back then that I could actually make a little bit of cash from from doing something that I truly enjoyed doing that's sort of the background story to to well to my company into clear vision games and so just a quick overview I did a couple of the flash games from 2007 and onward released the first first mobile game in 2012 another one came didn't year after and then be working on coalition three for a bit longer and so I had some images from from the very first game that I ever made it's a so I wanted to give the player I felt that that many games at a time like engaging storyline so this was per my attempt to to give the player more like something meaning behind the games and not just straight gameplays shooting and
the up to the left there his parents are killed he's taken away as a child soldier and he's got a lot of anger it's all we know so it becomes a hit man so that's what the set up for the very first game that I made during rehab gentleman I was sick and first game for mobile a few images in this game it's about the main character's name is Tyler and he's a janitor and working at a supermarket and his boss is pushing him around and you know you missed a spot there and you got to do this and people barf everywhere so eventually he quits and he punches his boss in the face and says I quit and he tries to find other jobs anything from you know a light bulb changer to whatever but it doesn't get any job so and that's when you know this is the rifle like in the corner of his room and he's like yeah maybe I could become a hit man so so that's how he sort of that storyline and then the clear vision three as another store line
same main character but still you know still want to give the player sort of more behind everything you're not just straight up game for you so that's been the focus and I put a lot of humor into this into the game it's like satire and that's I think that's something that the players really appreciate if he played Grand Theft Auto you know South Park kind of humor I tried to slide that into the game and yeah so just a small little overview of my Indy Indy journey started back in 2007 when I was in the hospital and there was a story developing the game and and I kept doing that for a couple of years and I was able to you know get my first office get an apartment and I was able to do it full-time professionally and so I put a lot of levels that was pretty much all I did and then I knew I had to move over to mobile because you can't live on flash games forever so I
set out to do that and like early 2011 I started learning how to make the mobile version of the game and I put all my energy into that game put all my savings and I ran out of money so I had to move back home I had to terminate the office space but I was willing to take the risk because I knew well I believed very much in the game that I was making there I thought it was I thought I was bringing something new to the market and I really want to play players to to enjoy it as much as I had done while developing it so um yeah that first mobile game you hit the top three spots and in the US paid top paid after Angry Birds and draw something so it did it did changed my life and I was able to you know get an office in Stockholm and you know take the next step still still really trying hard still really wanted to keep like this indie
indie we don't have any investors or we publish our publish our games ourselves so and that's something that we're really all that I really like so yeah we have five staff team based in Stockholm and we've been working really hard on a new game the cold collection online that I mentioned in the beginning and it's gonna be released later this summer early summer hopefully and yeah also partnered with a company called publish it sort of cooperating they have sort of an interesting in this set up where they sort of become a marketing partner assisting you and how to you know get your game out there and get the word out so the next level I just you know I can't help myself to show you I want to show you a bunch of like images from the new game so from this old flash games what it's like a one-man band it was home he doing everything we are now been working with really good people as well and really
proud of the nuclear vision they were developing so it's gonna be called collision on line like I said and the gay a couple of snapshots from the couple of screens from the from the actual game and it's gonna be it's gonna be a synchronous multiplayer game a sniper game we have you solve you attack other players and they have their own base and while they're offline like sort of like clash of clans kind of multiplayer and you have your own yeah taking off other players in their bases all the actual missions so if you want to make it harder for someone hit you you you upgrade your base you can hire guards and place them around your base to make it harder to be to be to be shot and so we call it a sniper strategy game because it's like a mix of strategy and sniping skills to sort of win the battles and you have obviously there's a lot of focus on weapons in this game and we have a bunch of different parts that
you can combine any way you want so it leads to like almost 100 million combinations that you can build build your own weapons and also customize your character with the peers and civil phases and stuff so that it's bit like short presentation of the coefficient online game and game footage from the game that I will show you so this is what we call the man cave hey this is from from here you access all the game's features and up there where we're here that's the weapons desk from here you can customize your weapon in all kinds of ways and it's gonna be you can make it look really silly if you like or really professional so that's my favorite that's called we call it the bean shooter because it's basically just a wooden plank and next up I'll show you a bit of a base building so in here you you get to like upgrade your base is actual building [Music]
different kind of levels you get to choose different locations this is so we can live in Antarctica or like in the woods or in the beach or whatever you like yeah you can place another building there if you like yeah so I think I prefer to live on the beach to get away a bit different from the Swedish weather also get to customize the character well a bunch of different kinds of faces and hats and all of that stuff there so we most of them not implemented there's still a lot of polish polishing left to be done but just to give you an idea what the game is all about right so now we're gonna attach them and you get this stack of tinder cards almost then you you can swipe away to well find your
match and there we have a target still I miss him in the beginning and he's like startled for a while before he but then it's gonna pull out his gun and start shooting back at you if you if you're too slow but I'll manage to get him [Music] boxes yeah so yeah that's a bit of a bit of game play for you as well so I want to I want to thank you for for listening to me it's been a just a short short talk about my indie journey so thank you [Applause] [Music] [Music]
The journey of Eldring Games, a self-funded independent studio based in Stockholm, illustrates the transition from solo flash-game development to a professional mobile gaming operation. Founded by Dan Olsson in 2007, the studio’s trajectory was born out of personal adversity during a period of medical recovery. This challenging time served as the catalyst for creating the Clear Vision sniper series, which prioritized narrative-driven gameplay and satirical humor to distinguish itself in a crowded market.
The studio’s success is anchored in the longevity and reach of the Clear Vision franchise. The original flash iterations garnered over 100 million plays, while subsequent mobile versions on iOS and Android have achieved approximately 35 million installs. These titles have maintained high user ratings, with 1.6 million reviews across app stores. The studio’s growth from a one-man operation to a five-person team reflects a commitment to maintaining creative independence, eschewing external investors in favor of self-publishing and strategic marketing partnerships.
The studio’s current focus is the development of Clear Vision Online, a title that evolves the series by integrating asynchronous multiplayer mechanics with base-building elements. By blending traditional sniping gameplay with strategic customization—including nearly 100 million possible weapon combinations and base defense systems—the studio aims to expand its reach. This evolution highlights a broader industry trend where established indie developers leverage existing intellectual property to experiment with deeper, more complex gameplay loops while retaining the core identity that initially attracted their player base.
