Solve Education! addresses the global challenge of providing quality, scalable education to the 263 million children and youth currently out of school. The initiative proposes a hybrid digital platform that integrates multi-user online strategy games with casual puzzle mechanics to improve user retention and engagement. By leveraging the "Learning-by-Doing" principle, the platform delivers educational content through job-related simulations and mini-games, aiming to teach both foundational literacy and soft skills such as teamwork and critical reasoning.
The methodology relies on the application of artificial intelligence and big data analytics to optimize the learning experience. AI serves to adapt content delivery to individual competency levels and learning styles, effectively emulating the role of a teacher for students without access to formal schooling. Simultaneously, big data analysis tracks in-game behavior to conduct A/B testing on variables like reward structures and interface design, ensuring that the platform continuously evolves to better support student learning outcomes. The system is designed for accessibility, supporting both online and offline play on lower-end Android devices.
The project’s scope focuses on youth populations, with initial testing conducted in Indonesia. Following an alpha phase with 100 users aged 16–20 in Jakarta and Bandung, the initiative is scaling toward a target of 10,000 users across Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. By utilizing game mechanics—such as progression, feedback, and behavioral triggers—the platform seeks to overcome the motivational barriers often faced by out-of-school youth. Future development plans include expanding the target demographic to include younger and older learners once the initial rollout proves successful.
