The title reached 1.3 million peak concurrent viewers on its first day.
Hogwarts Legacy established a new benchmark for single-player game engagement on Twitch, securing the record for the highest peak concurrent viewership in the platform's history. During its initial release window in February 2023, the title reached 1.3 million peak concurrent viewers, surpassing the previous record held by Cyberpunk 2077, which peaked at 1.14 million viewers in 2020. Other notable titles in this category include Elden Ring, Resident Evil: Village, and Dying Light 2: Stay Human, all of which trail the performance of Hogwarts Legacy.
The game’s rapid ascent in viewership was driven by strategic influencer marketing and Twitch drops implemented by Warner Brothers. Within its first 24 hours of streaming, the title generated 13.7 million hours watched and maintained an average minute audience of 540,000. Top-performing creators significantly contributed to these figures, with the streamer xQc leading the field by generating 1.3 million hours watched and achieving a single-channel peak of 126,000 concurrent viewers. Other prominent contributors included Illojuan, Fextralife, zachrawrr, and KaiCenat.
These findings are based on live streaming analytics captured during the game's early access period, prior to its general public release on new-generation consoles. The data highlights the effectiveness of coordinated influencer campaigns in maximizing visibility for major game launches. By leveraging high-profile creators and integrated platform incentives, the publisher successfully converted long-standing anticipation into record-breaking streaming metrics, suggesting that the title’s reach had the potential to expand further following its full commercial launch.
