The league has been rebranded as 'HanseMerkur Challengers DACH: Evolution.' This partnership expands HanseMerkur’s existing support for the DACH VALORANT scene.
The German insurance group HanseMerkur has secured a naming rights partnership for the VALORANT Challengers DACH league, which is operated by the esports and gaming marketing agency Freaks 4U Gaming. As part of this agreement, the league has been rebranded as the HanseMerkur Challengers DACH: Evolution. While the specific financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the partnership represents a renewal and expansion of a relationship that began in 2020, signaling the sponsor’s continued commitment to the regional esports ecosystem.
The scope of the partnership covers the DACH region—comprising Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—and integrates the HanseMerkur brand into various league operations. This includes the implementation of a sponsored "HanseMerkur Instant Replay" segment during live broadcasts, as well as ongoing logo placement across social media channels and live streams. Additionally, the insurance provider will participate in league organization and facilitate community-focused giveaways.
This sponsorship development occurs within a broader period of corporate activity for Freaks 4U Gaming, following a recent equity investment of €8 million from the India-based firm NODWIN Gaming. The investment, which granted NODWIN Gaming a 13.51% stake in the agency, underscores the ongoing consolidation and capital infusion within the competitive gaming sector. The rebranded league commenced its latest season of competition on February 10, 2024.
