M80 aims to establish a competitive presence across multiple international esports titles. The organization officially launched in December 2022.
The esports organization M80 has expanded its leadership team by recruiting two former staff members from XSET. This strategic hiring follows the official launch of M80, an organization founded by former XSET co-founder Marco Mereu, which aims to establish a competitive presence across multiple international esports titles.
Nate Schanker, who previously served as the head of social at XSET for over two years, has joined M80 as a co-founder and the organization's director of marketing. Joining him is Zachary Azzara, who assumes the role of creative director. Azzara brings extensive industry experience to the new venture, having served as the design director at XSET for more than two years, with a professional background that includes design contributions for Major League Gaming, Team Liquid, eSportsNation, and Elevate.
These appointments represent a significant step in M80’s organizational development as it begins to build out its executive team and competitive rosters. The organization has already signaled its intent to compete in the professional gaming landscape, having recently unveiled its first competitive lineup for Valorant Challengers. Further announcements regarding executive hires and additional competitive rosters are expected as the organization continues to scale its operations.
