Init Esports developed 'Screen to Speed' to promote diversity and inclusion for women in motorsports. The competition uses the iRacing platform.
Ford Performance has entered into a strategic partnership with Init Esports to serve as an official partner for the Screen to Speed racing simulation competition. This initiative, which utilizes the iRacing platform, is specifically designed to foster greater diversity and inclusion by encouraging women to participate in both esports and professional motorsports. The collaboration aligns Ford Performance with other existing sponsors, including Pennzoil, iRacing, and Yahoo.
The competition currently features approximately 150 female participants competing in online qualifiers. Following the conclusion of these qualifiers on February 12, 2023, the top 20 drivers will advance to an in-person final event scheduled for March 4, 2023, in Las Vegas, coinciding with the NASCAR Pennzoil 400 weekend.
The tournament offers significant incentives to promote professional development and competitive engagement. The overall winner will receive a $15,000 cash prize, a Next Level Racing simulator, and the opportunity to participate in track events with the KellyMoss race team. By supporting this female-led event, Ford Performance aims to strengthen its presence in the digital racing space while actively contributing to the professional advancement of women within the broader motorsports industry.
