Competitors from more than 100 countries will participate across 25 tournaments and 24 different game titles.
The Esports World Cup Foundation has released initial details regarding the 2026 Esports World Cup, a multi-week global competition scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 6 to August 23, 2026. The event aims to host more than 2,000 players and 200 clubs from over 100 countries, competing across 25 tournaments and 24 distinct game titles to determine an overall club champion.
The competition features a total prize pool of $75 million USD. Of this amount, $30 million is allocated to the Club Championship, with the winning organization set to receive $7 million. Individual Game Championships will account for more than $39 million in prize money, while the remainder is reserved for player awards and qualifying events. The event structure includes the return of the Club Partner Program, which supports 40 top-tier global esports organizations, and the Road to EWC qualification system, which integrates publisher-led circuits and grassroots tournaments.
The tournament is operated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of the Saudi government-owned Savvy Games Group. While the event represents a significant investment in the global esports ecosystem, it continues to face scrutiny from international human rights organizations regarding the broader context of Saudi government involvement in international sports and entertainment. The 2026 lineup includes a diverse range of titles, such as Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Dota 2, and various mobile and console-based games.
