Esports Charts has entered into a partnership with the Esports World Cup (EWC) to provide comprehensive viewership analytics for the 2024 competition. The event, which takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 3 to August 25, 2024, features a significant $60 million prize pool and spans a wide range of competitive titles, including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and various mobile and console games. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration aims to leverage data-driven insights to support the organizers in evaluating the event’s performance and growth.
The partnership involves the collection of viewership data across more than 20 international platforms, including major global services like Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok, as well as region-specific platforms in Asia and the Middle East. Esports Charts, which was recognized as the Esports Coverage Platform of the Year in 2023, maintains that its analytics services are independent of its editorial operations. The company’s leadership has emphasized that the agreement is strictly for the supply of internal viewership statistics and does not influence the firm's media coverage or editorial integrity.
The Esports World Cup is facilitated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of the Saudi government-backed Savvy Games Group. To address potential concerns regarding conflicts of interest, Esports Charts has stated that its data collection methodology remains consistent across all clients, including various game publishers. The company further noted that its freemium model allows for the cross-verification of metrics, ensuring that stakeholders and the public can validate the reported viewership figures against data from streaming platforms.
