The collaboration aims to enhance live esports broadcasts. This partnership is a long-term initiative to improve viewer experience.
The ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has entered into a partnership with Appario Global Solutions to integrate GhostFrame broadcast technology into its live tournament productions. This collaboration marks the first time the technology has been deployed within an esports arena setting, signaling a strategic effort to elevate the production quality of high-profile competitive gaming events. While the financial terms and duration of the agreement remain undisclosed, the partnership is positioned as a long-term initiative to enhance the viewer experience across EFG’s broadcast portfolio.
The implementation of GhostFrame technology debuted during the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne 2023, a major Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament held in Germany. The technology provides several technical advancements for live broadcasts, including the ability to display realistic graphic overlays, utilize hidden camera tracking, and manage multiple source video feeds simultaneously. These features are designed to provide a more immersive and sophisticated viewing experience for audiences tuning into the tournament’s live streams and highlight packages.
The deployment occurs within the context of the IEM Cologne event, which features the world’s top six teams competing for a $1 million USD prize pool. By adopting these broadcast-enhancing tools, EFG aims to set a new standard for production value in the esports industry. The integration of such advanced visual technology highlights the ongoing professionalization of esports broadcasting, as organizers increasingly look to leverage specialized media solutions to engage global audiences and differentiate their tournament coverage.
