The EA SPORTS FC Pro esports program has achieved significant viewership milestones during its debut season, signaling strong engagement for the competitive circuit surrounding the EA SPORTS FC 24 title. As the program approached its FC Pro Open finals in London in early 2024, it established itself as the most popular tournament series in the history of EA’s football esports offerings.
Key performance metrics highlight the program's rapid growth. Between November 2023 and January 2024, the FC Pro Open, including its Global Qualifier, generated over 6 million hours of watch time across more than 30 hours of broadcast content. The tournament achieved an average minute audience (AMA) exceeding 165,000 viewers. Furthermore, by the sixth week of competition, the program had accumulated more than 17.5 million views across 109 live channels, including both official broadcasts and community co-streams. These figures represent a doubling of viewership compared to the previous year’s EA SPORTS Cup.
These esports successes coincide with broader financial strength for the publisher. During its Q3 FY24 financial reporting, Electronic Arts announced that the EA SPORTS FC franchise outperformed expectations, delivering 7% year-over-year net bookings growth. This performance underscores the commercial momentum of the brand following its transition away from the FIFA naming convention. The competitive season culminated in a live, in-person final in London, featuring a $500,000 prize pool and qualification spots for the upcoming FC Pro World Championship.
