EA Sports FC 24 Joins the Esports World Cup

The Esports World Cup Foundation has officially confirmed that EA Sports FC 24 will be a featured title at the upcoming Esports World Cup, scheduled for July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This inclusion marks a continuation of the partnership between the game franchise and the Saudi-hosted tournament series, which serves as the successor to the previous Gamers8 event. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the title joins a diverse roster of competitive games, including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Rocket League, and various mobile titles.

The Esports World Cup is a multi-week, multi-title festival funded by the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund. The event is facilitated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of the Savvy Games Group, which oversees major industry entities such as ESL, FACEIT, and DreamHack. Although specific details regarding the prize pool and tournament structure for the EA Sports FC 24 competition have not yet been released, organizers have hinted at potential guest appearances by professional footballers to bolster the event's profile.

This development underscores the ongoing expansion of the Saudi Arabian esports landscape and its commitment to hosting high-profile international gaming competitions. The inclusion of EA Sports FC 24 follows its successful presence at the 2023 Gamers8 event, where the FIFAe Nations Cup featured a $1 million USD prize pool. Further information regarding the tournament's specific activities and rewards is expected to be announced closer to the event date.
