The new localized version of the tournament, branded as CECC India, will begin in Spring 2026.
The Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) has entered into its first international licensing partnership with the India-based firm Acceler Edtech Private Limited. This agreement aims to expand the reach of the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) by establishing a localized version of the tournament, titled CECC India, which is scheduled to launch in the spring of 2026.
The initiative leverages Acceler Edtech’s learning platform, Asymmetrical Learning, to build scholastic gaming infrastructure and competitive programming within India. The program is designed to mirror the structure of the North American CECC May Madness, which currently supports 185 schools and 320 teams across more than 800 campuses. While the specific game titles for the Indian circuit remain to be confirmed, the partnership seeks to capitalize on India’s rapidly growing esports community by fostering new opportunities for students, educational institutions, and commercial brands.
This expansion represents a strategic effort by CSMG to globalize its collegiate esports ecosystem. By adapting the established North American model for the Indian market, the organizers intend to create a sustainable framework for scholastic competition. Although the financial terms of the licensing deal were not disclosed, the collaboration aligns with the broader industry trend of professionalizing collegiate gaming and integrating it into educational and corporate environments. The move marks a significant milestone for the CECC as it transitions from a North American-centric event to an international property.
