CD Projekt
CD PROJEKT maintained a strong financial position during the first half of 2019, driven primarily by the sustained commercial success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The company reported 214.4 million PLN in sales revenues and a net profit of 51.7 million PLN. Notably, sales volume for The Witcher 3 exceeded figures from the same period in the previous year, validating the company’s long-term strategy of investing in high-quality, evergreen intellectual property. By the end of the reporting period, the group held a robust liquidity position with 530 million PLN in cash and bank deposits, while simultaneously distributing 101 million PLN in dividends to shareholders.
Operational focus during this period centered on the aggressive development and promotion of Cyberpunk 2077. The company invested 60 million PLN into new game development and technology, bringing cumulative project expenditures to 292 million PLN. Marketing efforts were highlighted by a significant presence at the E3 trade fair, where the company secured 85 awards and initiated preorders for the title. Engagement remained high throughout the summer, with over 19,000 spectators attending gameplay presentations at E3 and gamescom.
Strategic expansion efforts continued across multiple platforms and services. Plans were finalized to bring The Witcher 3 to the Nintendo Switch and to expand GWENT: The Witcher Card Game into the mobile market via iOS and Android. Simultaneously, the GOG division advanced its digital ecosystem through the development of GOG GALAXY 2.0, a platform designed to unify disparate gaming libraries and social features. These initiatives reflect a broader commitment to diversifying revenue streams and enhancing user accessibility across the global gaming market.
