Bandai Namco Holdings’ financial results for the nine-month period ending December 31, 2024, demonstrate significant growth across its core business segments. The company reported net sales of 955.6 billion yen, representing a 123.8% increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. Operating profit saw a substantial rise to 179.2 billion yen, a 229% increase year-over-year, reflecting strong performance in both digital entertainment and physical toy markets.
The Digital Entertainment segment served as a primary growth driver, with sales reaching 357 billion yen. This segment benefited from robust home video game performance, which recorded 32.7 million units sold across 61 new titles. Simultaneously, the Toys and Hobby segment generated 464.1 billion yen in sales, bolstered by the continued global popularity of major intellectual properties such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Mobile Suit Gundam. These IPs remain central to the company’s strategy, with Dragon Ball alone contributing 143.3 billion yen in group-wide sales during the nine-month period.
Geographically, Japan remains the company’s largest market, accounting for 646.5 billion yen in sales and 148.4 billion yen in operating profit. However, international expansion remains a key focus, with the Americas and Europe showing strong year-over-year growth in both revenue and profitability. The Amusement segment also contributed positively, with facility sales reaching 104.7 billion yen, supported by a consistent performance in existing-store sales across Japan.
The company’s financial position is supported by strategic investments in game content development and personnel, with capital investments totaling 37.1 billion yen for the nine-month period. Based on these results, management has updated its full-year forecast, projecting net sales of 1.23 trillion yen and an operating profit of 180 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025.
