This initiative aligns with the broader competitive roadmap for 2024.
Electronic Arts has officially designated 12 organizations as partnered teams for the 2024 season of the Apex Legends Global Series. This partnership model is designed to provide selected organizations with a share of revenue generated from the league and the sale of in-game items, such as character and weapon skins. The selected teams for Year 4 include Alliance, DarkZero, Disguised, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, FURIA, LG Chivas, Moist Esports, OpTic Gaming, Riddle, TSM, and XSET.
The Year 4 competitive structure for the Apex Legends Global Series features a total prize pool exceeding $5 million. This financial commitment covers the Pro League and Challenger Circuit competitions, as well as three major in-person LAN events. These marquee tournaments consist of the Split 1 Playoffs and the Split 2 Playoffs, each offering a $1 million prize pool, and the year-end Championship, which features a $2 million prize pool.
By formalizing these partnerships, the publisher aims to integrate professional organizations more deeply into the economic ecosystem of the game. This initiative aligns with the broader competitive roadmap for 2024, which emphasizes high-stakes, in-person events to drive engagement and revenue across the global esports landscape.
