Create free account[Music] we're back on Larry Charles cam Larry Charles here one half the team hosting the show bringing you the best up-to-date and live reactions to the big news in gaming right now what's on the what's on the docket for today's episode we're gonna look at the rest of the conferences okay be that being a scratch off square so you know Ubisoft we're gonna skip it des des because no boy I don't want to know about fallout 76 know what they got I can't believe they're still going on so we're gonna skip that both of these conferences are over an hour and a half we won't go through all of them we're gonna skip to the best bits but that's pretty much it for today we're gonna look at that and finally tomorrow we're gonna return to games topics because there's been a lot the Amazon layoffs and all that it's just this a huge amount of news after e3 so a
very sneaky Amazon laying off people during e3 very smart that's how you how you squeeze it to it in the mix that's the old commander in chief style exactly so direction exactly so we're gonna go ahead and then go straight to the conference and look at Ubisoft first so let's get to it all right before we go to that if you guys wanted to make a donation you want to sports on patreon if you like games recap as an audio podcast form that is one of our patreon goals so if you like watching us and want to take us on the go of course you can lead twitch on at all times but also if you want to hit that just to explain how this works guys we do this every day you would think like oh don't you guys have jobs this is our job we both have left the games industry more or less to become full-time independent developers but also games media and journalists so we run the show two hours a day then we work on our game project after that so
any free cups of coffee you can throw away trust me we a hundred percent appreciate it okay thank you so we are gonna this I'm gonna watch this in forty keep some camera - I'll write another Assassin's Creed game no one ever saw this coming [Music]
this is a big who do you think has the better annualized franchise would you say Call of Duty battlefield or Assassins Creed even though assassin screams like every two years who would you give it to that's often enough repeat that again Lydia Sasson screen yeah call duty battlefield as far as the best offices for each Sanskrit Sanskrit is like has been the mall it's the biggest game out of the three ago and biggest content was biggest content wise and I feel like they have a better hold of the the formula call duty goes through his ups and downs especially kind of getting rid of their third company sledgehammer Raven kind of dropping the ball they're going back to the to studio which is every two years which is kind of sane and more crunching you don't hear that much about Assassin's Creed teams they do kind of pay lower than most other companies but the house like 10,000 plus developers and sustain them for a while
too and I think I I actually think that Call of Duty going every other year as for an offering I know Activision won't do it but for the player experience they could stand to benefit a lot what I look forward to in like an assassin's creed once they were like hey we're gonna do it every two years you get about a year go through your story campaign have a lot of fun there but like as we see they're still releasing like hey here's all the content we're gonna supplement the experience with writing for the next year like oh we're gonna let you create your own missions we're gonna do XY and Z with Call of Duty what am i I guess I guess it's like a small gripe is like sure you played the single-player campaign then you spend a lot of time in multiplayer right but you also spend a lot of money in multiplayer you also spend a lot of time developing strategies learning maps and getting good and I'll imagine you know like you only have what maybe eight months of like optimal time before you're already like okay this is done now I need to start spending my money spending my time getting ready for the next Call of Duty or stop spending my money because the next Call of Duty is coming out so I think having two years to breathe there's a lot more time to show off that sweet gear that you got a lot more time
to really spend in your like high performance area of your experience right mm-hmm you've learned all the maps you got your combos you get your strategies you get everything that you have is like solid up two months from now new Call of Duty's coming out you know I mean I think two years for Call of Duty it could actually be a good thing for the player yeah maybe not for the neckties but for the player I don't know what do you guys think twitch chat let us know we can read the comments live so hit us up with any ideas thoughts or feedback yeah who thinks this interest kind of like yeah we should skip it skip it why it's like really in love with yourself you know I mean like like I look it's not look at automatic assassin's creed song that I hum in when I'm taking a shower and it's no halo Phebe yeah it's not familiar enough for me to appreciate this I like the symphony that little orchestra music quick to start off like this and it's been five minutes nicely party yeah it's like we we only have assassin creed
right through says Creed's 29 yeah we don't we don't care about sometimes the thing with the press conference is ever he has a sort of press confident there's like six everything Los Angeles it's kind of like its own award show which feels big when I was like looking through each one is an hour there's like you have an hour of really good content like you know they edited it down from two hours right and this is the one hour that they want to give it off to everybody's like I love it because it's that's all these major publishers that are pulled out of e3 so like you know my personal beef it's so each time it's a press conference everyone just goes through the abridged version they pretty much are doing we just skip skip skip skip skip yeah man I hear you go let's
see we got [Music] your prophetic is this destiny oh no no this can't be it kind of did I'm not gonna lie I'll give you that and next at the Ubisoft conference mario vs. rabbits do what come on get to it I'm your logo interesting London watchdogs city in the world well used to be right mess extreme this is watchdog they reach its to when oh yeah to came out to came out blip Dan light went under the radar and you didn't really hear much about it you can't deny
UV solves reliance like reliability to compensate out these games in a timely manner dude they get it right right they have a formula they have this engine they make the first game solid right solid experience and then you just add the tweaks to two and three which is that was like the triple-a model that was set around xbox 360 days yeah gears one build everything up test your technology two and three are just updated character models and a couple of new game mechanics the type of you know I guess expectation good but I'm always impressed with with how they put up quality and able to analyze it but still you never hear them laying off massive amount of people who floor game shipping they retain all their talent within they're like thousands of studios around the world I wonder if we were to look at all the game studios that are like public publicly owned or publisher owned who hires the most people is it currently you saw I think it's you saw they hire the most and they keep the
money hey at a like it average this is not the most yeah it's not like the most most money that you can collect over there as a good stability yet very yes stability is their key buzzwords does the concept of watchdogs still hold up you think now that we're three games in we're kind of just living my life and yeah there's a second life yeah they need to be a little more what's that show like we're black near they got to be ten years ahead of us for us to appreciate what's happening yeah I think that's the I guess that's the hard part for me about seeing somebody go into developing like a watchdog style game is the first one was like oh this is impressive tech that I can see coming now it's like yeah this is all stuff that I see today right now yeah they have to have the AR stuff yeah although watch that you know me with black mirrors they always have that little the temple patch bandaid patch and runes
looks good it looks like I feel like every Ubisoft game that's open world is already impressive and there's got to be some type of gameplay loop that we can rely on all the time so I've never been unimpressed who did it who shot drones better than advanced warfare shout out the Tom fell forward that amazing drone shooting technology though I don't know if you'll ever hear that but if he does there's a surprise for him I appreciate anybody waiting for the GTA 6 watchdogs sitting right there ready for you to hold you over because that's what it's starting to feel like for me oh you know I think they're definitely second in line in tens of open world
plus the funny thing is how many copies doesn't watchdogs actually need to sell like let's just be honest the first one probably need to sell enough to like okay we can do this again but I bet you watch dogs to watch dogs 3 maybe 1/4 1/3 you know I'm saying one third of the budget oh where they have to just once once the tech was set up paying twice as much I think so for them too because all these studio publishers that throw more resources for sequels usually not the other way departures making it bigger better if all those systems that they kind of shelved bringing it back out with sequels I think it needs more people is the technique gets more but in terms of like a the only the only sign that we saw with Ubisoft was after
Bobby Kotick like laid off few hundred people and Ubisoft came out trolling saying hey we had record profits too and we're late nobody we're actually hiring more people oh my god our systems I love I love that [ __ ] oh look at this it's cool I know a game called diode that does some [ __ ] like this shout out shout out to Alvin it's cool so a little kick in the nuts is this a grandma or somebody like what is your impression last watchdog's came out maybe almost two years ago yes I want videogames to want people to have fun again mmm as in don't take it Saints Row 3 levels of like exaggeration but
still understand like even though you're creating this fantastic world and you want people to be impressed with rank and the mechanics you still remember that every now and then it's it's actually fun to just have fun yeah you know what I mean like some semblance of a before class exactly like give me some mayhem that I won't see in real life give me something that is not just oh my god I have 5 stars in GTA this is fun but no like sometimes turning your tank backwards in shooting shells and like getting this weird physics bugs to actually become a feature from their player's perspective like that's the kind of stuff that I actually still enjoy I like what my video game still remembers that it's a video game yeah and not just oh well in real life you wouldn't survive that shootout yeah I get it but like oh I actually like that you know it yeah I see a red barrel every now and then and I can cause extra calamity like that kind of stuff I still think video games should keep in mind as they're developing no matter what type of experience you're going for and still let the player like actually have some video game type of here in there that's pretty cool it's nicer for surf drums slip drums are
already here definitely can be like walking with what with the first and second way oh yeah yeah I think for me to be sold on watch the three is kind of seeming more of your black inner elements of Technology being three years ahead at least yeah missing how surveillance is controlling our lives because that's the draw nice black nearing again right dude if if watchdogs stole Max Payne bullet time yeah I think they'd be set because that would be like that one video gaming feature that I was talking about yeah all their like tech espionage stealthy kind of stuff cool but like give me a video gaming feature in this world and I think the Max Payne bullet time would just be awesome in this series this is coming from somebody who's only played watchdogs one by the way oh don't you don't maybe if they already did it in two and it didn't work you should put it I did I sleep late
I've got watchdogs one I can bring it okay still all the same console day well it's both I have it on xbox wait watch that's one key now it's 160 no watchdogs one is Xbox one exponent yeah Xbox okay so it's all the same generation of constant is yes that's impressive man that means they would average two to three years well three years at least for game I mean I guess that depends on when the first one came out I don't remember yeah yeah shoutout to the early crew gonna read off some names boss geekery hello and oh a drain Thane thanks for coming back it's good to see some familiar friends 20:14 everything thank you so that's yeah you got six years almost they definitely have a formula that they're keeping to themselves and they're doing
it right you want to skip something new see you again yeah we've seen all the I haven't seen any new features and mechanics yeah but history has proven time oh don't wear that certainly you just you just like dangling the bait for like that sniper who's out there somewhere the UK has become a surveillance state and freedom has been replaced with fear armed drones patrol the streets deportation squads rip people from their homes yeah and granddad is using crypto to buy a new kidney on the black market I like the the pokes at society that they're taking right here so that I think that's pretty cool inspiration - what's using the medium the right way are the heroes of our game all of them in watchdogs Legion your mission is to build a popular resistance to fight back against the emergence of an authoritarian regime this means you
don't play is one hero targa [ __ ] just makes me want to punch you in the chest as I say that's like it's it's like you're daring somebody you're daring them throw ice cream on you like it's think it's too tempting it's yeah [ __ ] I could hit that guy with my Apple [Applause] [Music] now that's always been interesting to me been like persistent life relationships and overlap and yada yada like if you find this character that lives near you and then they have a boyfriend and let's say you go find the boyfriend and kill them then you go back to that character they're gonna have they'll be sad or they'll react to the fact that they lost their job or that they lost their boyfriend or whatever whatever every cinematic in the game will change depending on whether you're playing a former mi5 action hero a seven-year-old I'm really excited to see how this plays out I'll say that
however you go for it man you gotta jump in there you gotta jump in there that's what live TV does you want to be a crew of street savvy kids from the council block do it you want to go hipster I want to know more about what multiplayer brings in watchdogs right because like watchdogs 1 as much as I didn't like the troll potential I did like the proposal that I could drop in drop out of your world and start doing hackery [ __ ] to you and you're getting why like you were playing and you couldn't you know what I mean like you wouldn't know until I was there and then we had this like spy burst by kind of cat and mouse inside of your game I was something that was pretty cool like I would also love to go mr. robot and like invite three of my friends we former hacker cell and then we just go off and on GTA online the whole rest of the game I think that'd be cool it's expensive to ask for but are they selling us DLC I missed this point no you're just is that wise Legion is
the new so these discs on top three they just want to keep it a a brand no this is no way they're watching the trailer this is what I mean Matt it doesn't need to be an hour look how much blush I think this is new stuff I can't no I recognize there is yeah this is London Docks yeah really state machine screed oh [ __ ] it's always sunny because our show yeah I was gonna say that's the guy you think I'm celebrity contact form is
the other developers contact them contact the set of the agreement he has to be in the game right I've yet to see like a sled would be like I want to be in the game and then except for 50 cent 50 cent bulletproof blood in the sand okay he is in the game executive who is a creative director look at that pose a fourth wall break right at least they're being funny about it he and Ryan Reynolds cousins is what like don't they they have like similarities dude 410 season was the same way he got super fat 1c recognized and super alright so ding thing says my only problem with multiplayer watchdogs to was getting locked out of missions because someone
dropped in justice has about the stuff that I can see that being quite annoying I would agree I can see that is painful so without further ado here is a brief look into our upcoming TV series for Apple TV plus mythic quest wait so we're watching this is a show this is a show yeah because I think you'd be saw created an arm for movies for their licensing out there so their deal is with Apple is this a fourth wall video game movie was like what was that like the guild where it's like hey this is our real-life life while we play this video game they're setting us up for a joke they're setting us up for a joke because all this is over the top their first major expansions banquet and
it all falls on the shoulders of one man creative director iron grim when we think about cultural touchstones yeah we think is the game office song and yet it should be a game that's but that's what this is is that what yeah they said I remember them China talking about how these guys are doing it I think inside of you student the show starts with hiring a bunch of people and in the second episode that's the case TV show all right it's we're at the release party yeah everybody hold your [ __ ] is just two people okay if under your champagne is a blue dot in the other and there's only the executives that don't have the non blue dot champagne oh [ __ ] it's a community again
cool we're watching this live to guys so if there's pauses where we're not saying anything we're trying to absorb the content is now this is a very smart of them that kind of capitalize on this is it's it's funny how long it's taken them realize how inside the game Studios back to the hilarious place to find out we were always the Nerds we were always the misunderstood to the TV producers in those that world but now when they see how much money we make they're trying to think it's cool because without the caster's it's harder for people who don't know what's going definitely appreciate the job exactly like oh they're probably gonna go around for a block and oh the minted comes in with the block at the right time for people who know what's going on they like that too but for people have no idea the casters like their only way of like really getting an understanding kind of instructions so I think it's necessary
but the problem is we need a Joe Rogan s to kind of show like how they're not over-the-top because it kind of comes off with genuine really that excited at least balance that guy out you know he's doing the polite college dress they come on we are not that excited I'll say this I think the hard part for me to appreciate eSports is like because we're talking about eSports and gaming games evolve and change and hitter eight so fast whereas like I look at basketball I look at chess right tried-and-true the rules barely changed yeah like the graphics don't update like I'm always seeing like the top level of basketball in the NBA yeah NBA has been around for I don't know how many years well I don't know if we'll ever get to that level right like need 49 to closely but no one's really I think Starcraft 2 is the dark times in my opinion because Starcraft 2 is still huge community from day one barely changed right what I don't see Starcraft 2 being like NBA level successful
worldwide phenomenon where you have like I go to Disneyland and I see people wearing Starcraft 2 player jerseys like I don't see that happening and so I guess the hard part about eSports and gaming for me is I think it's regardless of what the business owners or the investors want it to I still think we're a ways away from it ever being just global phenomenon he would leave legends huge huge game but riot does it all themselves they do their own eSport promotions and it's not like you know I could go to a Walmart and see League of Legends anything at all yeah there's no even though even rocket League I felt like was the clone maybe I think that's going to make a sport type of event around a game but it was not there and it's like disappeared ever since that the problem and maybe I guess eSports will never just be like this is the tried and true game like you'll never we may never have that like basketball or chess where it's like high-level competition over generations and generations and generations playing
the exact same game and we might just have to accept that about eSports yeah well you won't have like a 17-year career you might have a four five year career because the game you're really good at its popularity is going through waxing wait because we're ready at the 30 minute mark we had to go through square alright guys Division two this divisions here that's probably [Applause] we're no longer budget bullet sponges every shot Malthus said passion it is this must be being paid at this point I'm so happy to see that like all the character likenesses are like becoming part of games yeah actually think it's kind of cool call duty was probably the first one that really sounds like it was built into their models yes yeah you know
those two edges Alba would have been a dope Call of Duty boss he was well we had Russell it looks the two black people is like we handed yourself alright first of all they are very similar I will give you this though they actually the highest if there is a little bit of resemblance there and that's coming from a fellow african-american so I'll let you see any of an accident no yeah you did you don't get a free pass I'm saying I'm letting it slide as in I've taken my note okay I'm not gonna punish Oh actually okay five five I'm gonna email rustling or just do very well you know what you know what it is it's just Allah in a fast appears he's basically like it is like he's the advanced warfare that's what I see that's where it is you just cover my
hands oh my screams I messed up my knees are off as he Wow branded wow I already know what that's to my coming to your house and confused okay so based on what you've seen what do you think is gonna be their most successful morning we've seen watchdogs we know Assassin's Creed we've seen Ghost Recon out of all their game out of all their games I would say after that would be the division they are hungry and then watchdogs yes just you know what I've been told while enhance yeah and I don't know is this wild lands on switch what I've been hoping for and I've been very excited about since the game it was like even teased as a life survey was a Ubisoft's
pirate game based on the black flag technology that they built remember Black Flag that though as soon as I had my pirate ship and I could do like my trade routes and stuff and I stopped playing I've never beaten that Assassin's Creed I own it I have so many hours put into that game because I have so much fun pirating I don't even I let go of being assassin anybody at that point so I've been waiting for there I forget what it's called like blood and bones or thinking after assassin they did finally make it if I look like a pirate interchange so I'm waiting for that that's all I want out of Ubisoft [Music] [Applause] I think you can play through the whole experience with a team of solo players
the UK's Ellen Page and if she's some developer over there like awesome don't take the joke personal actually Larry quite acclaimed developer so tell top planks is he a real dude he's a real author Tom Clancy's author obviously now the author used his name as like basically a franchise brand for all shooter espionage lots of probably what granny's name does have a lot of strength what's interesting is I remember when those first games came out like Tom Clancy's Rainbow six or whatever right I didn't
necessarily see the Venn diagram where there was a connection between the readers of Tom Clancy books Plus PlayStation 1 gamers but or maybe it was even ps2 area the so-called was so calm Tom Clancy yeah so comments Tom Clancy yeah okay thanks yeah I guess it was just brand recognition hello everyone really don't know how to do and what to do with their hands okay see dead people yeah yeah yeah really don't know what to do with their hands on stage I'll say this man in in a lot of deaf people's defense they don't have as much experience right with like I bet you that might be his first a second time doing presentation he's just a guest
even with the like week of prep doesn't matter it doesn't it doesn't add up to like during years and years and years of press interview yeah take one class [Applause] these are the three hand motions that you need to use is the finger thumb point it's the open hands as you hear what person clap individually oh that's so sad you hear that one I'm always that first about one Supporter I'm that guy at the end of the movie I hate people clapping but I and it becomes like it's like my starting a right okay I can but you know you like knowing that you did that I didn't think this I started the clap I started clapping and sat down at the end of secret life of pets too I stood up people were uncomfortable but they joined in because that's what shi tzu
well here we go red eyes the game yeah just prepping for the movie I don't know it's seen a lot of terminally it's only a finger pointing all right I wonder what the people in the air saying morning Rin G the cringe is awesome I always feel bad like it I love those moments in my vein that's why I live where did the cringe was I keep forgetting who it was but the guy was he like was it Carm a kid who just like walked off the stage gonna be felt so uncomfortable during a presentation who was that was it ah Q no it was somebody somebody was like a exact level person was like doing a presentation and they
just like walked completely just read off the statement I forgot who that was the probably best we leave it at that yeah I own this foot in there Ghost Recon mobile oh there you go boom who called it yeah it is like laying that the annualized well consistently but once in a while they can afford a new franchise it's like Far Cry does it right like they said you know far cried the new Far Cry 5 and the fr cried new dawn same area same ass that same everything a slight update and then new story looks pretty good but they also sell it for like $10 cheaper $20 yeah I mean they're probably the closest to lizard than everybody else I feel with their strength of their IPs
I think Ubisoft was slowly becoming number one see that's what I want is the [ __ ] yeah that's what I was expecting didn't get any more tension more tension more up close that's a grab my gun that's a DoubleTap dude is he you and their brain is like no I don't see anybody right here oh that's cool most a quarantine see they just need to go back to this replay or tactical go up it sounds pretty cool it's very Call of Duty Oh though you have a new idea right I like that co-op is becoming a bigger film in the game in this year right now with connectivity being at an all-time high
everybody has high-speed Internet see what you got show me dumb Sambas youth Oh does not like zombies they probably can't hear it though these are broadcaster mics probably hear a little crying over there did you see any part of that dude I like I didn't I didn't I don't have one yeah there's no games that they make that I'm interested in I fast-forwarded and was 76 in like two other games well doom was the big announcement for the oh that's right a shout out to Hugo Martin Bob yeah yeah holding it down over there but the rest of the
just now I heard the news I never really liked any of their games well we could talk about doom I heard that doom itself presented well but the multiplayer seemed like it wasn't gonna be that fun but the main game part of that people are excited about let's see we got some comments I'm curious what games are you two playing for fun currently how do you play for fun dude I haven't touched the game since I've gone back here in Orange County I was playing metal gear actually there's a lot we remember your father I was playing metal gear 5 I'm working my way flying through that but that's my favorite franchise and took me what five years after its gonna start playing it and I'm loving it so to answer that question for myself I usually try to get in about three hours maybe four hours of heroes of the storm a week usually around lunchtime and then before they stop supporting it oh no it's they just stop these sports and then because I'm an Xbox game past member I'm actually playing Darksiders 2 before I get a bit now taxing Darksiders 2 yeah I want to get through the whole story which means
I also have to play dark side that's another game where I felt like Darksiders was really got into it I think Darksiders one was like holy [ __ ] it worked you know what I mean is like my opinion of so wasn't buggy no it's not that I mean it wasn't really buggy it's just that like I was really happy for vigil I was really happy for Joe mad like finally getting like a hit under his belt cuz he had been trying to start game company after game company under gamification gone to ncsoft it was a hit so the track record right like seeing projects not work out and not work out not yeah not work out and being a big fan of his arms like waiting for him to have a success Darksiders one was like the cursus okay front to back fun game came out you know it didn't suck is a lot like a God of War black Joe mad style it was really cool community because I'm happy to announce though that this week only
between June 13th and regaining steam the division 2 will be absolutely 100% free for to play oh that sucks that was yesterday we just missed it which is misty anybody watching this the division was the benches that I wished I played but because it was really it tripped on itself upon launch it wasn't widely supported with DLCs and follow-ups right I think conceptually great and then I guess division 2 is like the division one finally reason for yeah so I think I'm all I care about is not aching somebody in the face 40 times just to see them go still in the fight right that's RPG yeah I get it but like suspension of disbelief also counts I'll
finish this so just so you know the vision 2 is coming go alright it's coming out got it a hundred plus games oh man now I'm I don't want another [ __ ] so let's you know who's gonna make a lot of money like it's Phil he's asked for a job you know is gonna make a lot of money if anybody can find a way to be the pay us 60 bucks a month and you'll have a subscription to all the subscription things and then you can use just our portal it's getting so fragmented now that like I actually think that I would rather have instead of paying and switching between all these portals and you play xbox game pass Xbox Live and whatever that I mean game passes the new thing and then Apple TVs new thing and then that's too much origin and then steam good god this is the square enix press
conference Final Fantasy 7 remake is a day won by for me I don't even need to see the rest this game was a defining experience in my childhood and I'm so happy to see like an update comes it like Square Enix's it was the first and I think still the best of it if you want to do stylize realistic characters like that's the bar look that's why when I was looking at all the other games from the Star Wars game right it's not stylize enough if that's if they're going for like no pores and a clean look what I worry about like you can see the environment super realistic with the directors opana they stand out they've created the world yeah right in a world that feels like it's stand apart but it's also pushing the graphics power of exactly the console that it's on so you get you get both you get to see this really cool game that could only exist right now but then it's also experience that stands alone you have an execution so many subscriptions exactly it's a bar the cable company of games
can we can when they put orchestra music you reckon it can't be out there with assassin's creed hoping that me producer found the pastor seven remix remake i heard that they're having a hard time getting this game made though and they don't know when it's gonna be finished and it's gonna be episodic seen what the reception and everybody was super happy they started putting a team together after the oh [ __ ] now we have to do it yeah it's so hard to be that decision-makers Squaresoft though because it's such a beloved title and so easy to do wrong and just mess up like making playstation mini it's a great
example of do it ever we saw the Chile yes I heard that Final Fantasy 8 is also getting a remake or actually that's already done it just got a remaster not a remake right behind us so I will say the like button mash ability combat that I'm seeing right now is probably gonna open the barriers for a lot more people who are you to Final Fantasy 7 because there's a lot of like let's say 17 year-olds yeah today who completely missed yeah the original Final Fantasy 7 years and to ask them to go into like turn-based combat and think that that's like this [ __ ] probably
wasn't gonna happen so I can understand I can understand why they yeah I'm excited to revisit [Applause] [Music] hey so if you use steel on that guy right there you get a sword case you didn't be a soldier third Jimmy Steele and then you get a pardon there you be scared I let him swing and then once he misses [ __ ] well that's like a real person with a real Buster Sword you got one good swing yeah for you to be able to even carry that around you must be pretty strong yeah gotta have those poured hopefully yeah if you stay away
oh of course if he's carrying the sword have we not take asleep that's a hundred percent that's a lot of confidence if you can that big of a story you're like all right he knows what he's kind of doing like I guarantee you though if he misses it's over he's not gonna hop pick it back up and then go for another strike well the goddamn machines got me again still still race this ass bear design I hear let's hear him talk I bet he says the word government would it be in it my words mark my words the only thing I never liked the puffs on fantasy is the dove beam has always been bad once
[Applause] yes a gun is an honor for Sylvie cooking the original graffiti and if they if they knew how many black people actually love Final Fantasy 7 and sat through that embarrassment to their culture that that noise who makes a noise like that the guy who's been through a lot I think I've got his arm chopped off and put a machine gun and I was like what the [ __ ] man I'm gonna wipe my ass with this chief of baby [Music] I know we have to think daunting always
bothers me that it turned me off from Final Fantasy 10 when they first do the dubbing well there's a Japanese original soundtrack I feel like all their voice actors treat it like it's a damn so proper instead of like actually act like you were a person acting there you know what I mean if they're it's the only one of the kids yeah it's like everyone else is like I heard you had a rough day I don't know what it is but it's just like the it's there's so much emphasis on the emotional like journey I don't really know how to put this in the proper context but I never hear Platt deliver exactly what I would expect to be like actual voice acting if it came from a Western place yeah versus all my life I wanted to fight for this moment like that's not how you would say it you know ii mean hit hit hit me i saw half the conference's that and in life is strange oh it's like it's like the entire the entire game was voice acted by a kpop
boy band yeah it's like what i feel like even the girl characters and it's like nah man put some some real actors in there and let them speak the words i think we need to dedicate some backs against change I never played luxury but I hear it all the time in life of strangers and deaths are key ducks we should I'm glad that games like this actually do well cuz I always love when people push the medium and really use video gaming as a way to tell stories I'm super behind like a storytelling experience you know like we can match three we can collect power-ups and shoot and do all that stuff but like you can really pull some immersion and get people involved in a story when you're playing it through a videogames medium just because there's a layer of choice is layer of feedback and interpretation of what's happening where there's interaction that interaction lets you invest way more than just passively sitting back eating popcorn and watching other people's life so yeah kudos to
everyone on life is strange maybe interlacing cuts of influencers reacting to the game yeah how you feel about that man is that the best way to sell his game I think for right now the best way to do anything involving marketing games is to involve the influencers I think that's the best bang for buck here's why ah three billion dollars for your 30 second Super Bowl commercial sure vs. 15 streamers of couple hundred thousand but do I really need to see them in the trailer for the game okay so you may not agree with how this execution is but I think that like going to streamers and using their audience for leverage honestly I think that's the best bang for your buck and you're just gonna keep seeing that until I'm I feel like the marketing sacrifice of showing them in the trailers and so they have nothing to do with me the reactance of the game and fake crying and they're exaggerating the reaction to kind of get to say the cut right yeah
it's like who's falling for that but then also now that they've done the trailer like this guess what each one of those streamers is they're gonna do [ __ ] commercial oh my god fast forward to here I'm gonna kijima this [ __ ] put babies in there like a basket back hey all my street negatives thanks for the bits did you see me in the trailer go watch it peace can't do it I would never like it's gonna happen man that's I'm not if you ever see any of our games and we recut it with influencers aside from maybe doctor disrespect we like reacting to our game how emotional shotgun front door dude I should have right in their face you heard of here so if it never happens you can cut this clip with that clip if Brennan ever has to eat crow use this clip as reference [ __ ] man I'm an artist I feel like frickin Andy Warhol like selling out if I do that you know
what here sue can four times hit 18 million dollars this is my this is my Banksy practical joke all right am I the only one thinking square-enix conference about final fantasy and two hey Tomb Raider we haven't seen Tomb Raider liking the hearts what shadow bringers irrelevant I'm here the faster we only have like a few minutes to wrap up today's episode up and let's be honest no one cares about those old Final Fantasy games this is scrubbing content people can fly these guys are only known for that one big game Bulletstorm Bulletstorm I guess the chair wasn't familiar blade I think in Bulletstorm I think was people can fly yeah they were bought by epic in the yes what the dick Bulletstorm
you see people can fly so our till ends now this is our test our test is can you flash when I see guns being around let me know how much when you start seeing character reels they were forced to show how big is people get is this ever engine single some deaths at their desk like stressing out about well you know what we're gonna need to see the new way to cut a trailer I guess for deaths this is one influences this is where what I feel like an influencer reaction video this video is cut engines trailer that's how invasive so you get some support from the boss people agreed you think of you when I'm right let's
see yeah that's the Final Fantasy 8 remake a remaster I gotta use oh that's no that's the original FMV that's not gameplay he's not reading okay yeah that's the FMB wait remaster we're not getting this seven treatment it's not getting the seven treatment it's just getting updated textures and character models yeah it sucks to be not that game needed it though that game was actually really good I like that again was I loved that I loved it but it was hard when you were in the non FMV moments and like the three pieces of hair covered the dudes whole face i pixelated everything you have - I love you - Jenny she's catching a plane shoutout to our boy v for working on this game went to college with him automated recording there yeah yeah that's right crunching the way he was he was one 1/4
of our super team UV Caesar oh no way that is fine I'm not gonna let you disrespect the team disrespect everybody was there except for that last woman you guys got this I'm too scared we've had someone leaked on podcasting San Francisco bridge hey I remember doing that in a game I don't have any patience for your understood I would love to see a kind I need Avengers movie or Catherine American movie where they changed the sound of the shield to a frying pan that would just be Alerus just for me someone on the internet could cut that together I'll pay you money real monies or bits
hey you this which reminds us I mean finally qualify that's right this is worth the pause guys we finally qualify you like that white we finally qualify for prime memberships which Prime so if you have Amazon Prime and you're not doing anything with it everyone gets $5 donation that they can support their favorite streamer ah you did not know that so there's a subscribe button somewhere up there on the right give us that five dollars every month and that will help support anyway yeah so we finally crossed the threshold and prime has recognized us they we we did the whole knighting ceremony and we're allowed to have prime subscriptions so you know thanks for everybody who watched everything that we did over the last week and a half of content and we're happy to keep making more stuff regardless of if we get subscriptions are not like we still make the shows but definitely help it make it easier for us if you can yeah man five bucks
feeds per kid a day for me so I wonder why they didn't use the actors from the MCU in the game I'm assuming cost yeah it's my guess I don't think Marvel well Marvel did license these guys they're you they will they license obviously those actors are in the movies but licensing their likeness for games might not have been in the contract yeah it's not one gun came out since one till endgame now the game is coming out so I'm assuming it ended up just being a cost issue like if one person said no and you have like four out of five real likeness and one person says no that almost screws the whole thing crystal dynamics here we go Here I am fasting here's the pay2win button if he be worthy you may be we are the power to pay to it thanks boss I appreciate the support I played
Captain America you think there's voice actors are finally getting there yeah I think from here on now it's good to be a voice actor yeah they got their union they got the Yuna's a ssin very able strike for like 45 minutes and it got it all worked out I'm happy for voice actors I mean it's they're an important part of the gaming experience and I think the relationship between developers and other people who developers consider external to the process yeah that attitude is the same attitude that the publishers have when they start laying people off like all these people aren't critical to the process get rid of these 800 we can just bring new people all right against is literally that almost that same thinking yeah all I can think about when I watch this like okay guys possibly cuz I can't I have like huge ass size weight like
crossed legs like oh like left this is like skinny jeans type of dudes I cross my legs like that ankle on me that's me I don't even attempt that I'm not under side on me I'm like mrs. president kind of crimes where it's like let's highway Linda I'm a Mormon I can't cross if I tried to cross my voice it would be an ankle on me yeah but I'm more of a man's spreader on the enemy where I just sit comfortably both feet on the ground cuz their problem for me is I get that toilet syndrome you ever use your phone on the toilet for too long and then your whole leg is just bonded like it's yeah yeah so that's why I keep both feet on the ground all right we're at that time that we need to switch gears but that's adventures limited but blood blood they didn't really show any gameplay Jenny here we go again so that kind of wraps it up once Chris off I think we in X
square enix off their own salsa mm and it'll be summer Ubisoft I say Ubisoft it might be who be soft but you know tomato tomahto there's no other company that comes close they'll always drop everything that you saw about it both conferences Final Fantasy 7 remake overall 7 definitely has its I'm biased towards yeah there's a special part of my life that I look forward to experiencing is that game was actually the only reason I bought the PlayStation 4 mini yeah because I have an HDMI out to play Final Fantasy 7 yeah that and division 2 ok like division gonna give up yes yeah like the first one I kind of awaited the storm Division 2 seems like they got their act together so I'm I love modern shooters I love playing with friends it seems like the B game for me to check out but that pretty much wraps games recap for us right so for anybody that's tuning in we have invisible walls the launch of a new show real quick I'm gonna switch this with a guess so I'll wait around for about like 5

Ubisoft maintains a robust and stable development model by leveraging established engines and iterative design across major franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, Far Cry, and the Tom Clancy series. This strategy allows for consistent production cycles that avoid the volatility and mass layoffs common among other large publishers. While this approach ensures high-quality, reliable gameplay loops, there is a growing argument that future titles should prioritize unique, exaggerated mechanics over strict realism to maintain long-term engagement. A two-year development cadence is proposed as an ideal standard, providing players sufficient time to master complex systems before the release of subsequent iterations.
The industry landscape faces significant challenges regarding the longevity of competitive gaming and the accessibility of content. Unlike traditional sports, the rapid evolution of video game mechanics prevents eSports from achieving generational stability. Furthermore, the proliferation of fragmented subscription services is increasingly mirroring the complexities of the cable television market, creating friction for consumers. Marketing practices are also under scrutiny, particularly the trend of embedding influencer reactions into official trailers, which is viewed as an invasive and disingenuous tactic that detracts from the product itself.
Square Enix’s recent output highlights a divergence in quality and modernization efforts. While the Final Fantasy VII Remake is lauded for its successful transition to real-time combat and high visual fidelity, other projects like the Final Fantasy VIII remaster and the Avengers title face criticism for lacking comprehensive overhauls or sufficient gameplay transparency. Licensing constraints and the complexities of voice acting remain significant hurdles for major titles, often preventing the integration of film-based likenesses. Ultimately, the industry must balance the demands of modern production with the need for authentic player experiences and streamlined access to content.
