The Esland Awards 2023

The 2023 Esland Awards, held in Mexico City, served as a significant milestone for the Spanish-speaking live streaming community, demonstrating substantial growth in audience engagement. The event, which honored top creators across 18 categories, achieved a peak viewership of 1.7 million, representing a 64% increase compared to the previous year’s ceremony. Hosted by Twitch streamer TheGrefg, the broadcast attracted 2 million unique viewers to his channel alone and generated 9 million hours of total watch time.

The awards highlighted the dominance of prominent figures within the Spanish-language streaming ecosystem. Ibai secured two major honors, winning Streamer of the Year and Event of the Year for his celebrity boxing match, La Velada Del Año 2. Other notable recipients included Jelty, who was recognized as Esports Player of the Year, and Gerard Romero, who received awards for Best Clip and Best Reporting.

These findings underscore the expanding influence of Spanish-language content on global streaming platforms like Twitch. By leveraging viewership data and event analytics, the industry continues to observe a trend of rising engagement for large-scale, community-focused digital productions. The success of the 2023 ceremony reflects both the professionalization of creator-led events and the sustained interest of a massive, geographically concentrated audience.
