National Student Esports (NSE), the governing body for university-level competitive gaming in the United Kingdom, has entered into a partnership with gaming peripheral manufacturer SteelSeries. Under this agreement, SteelSeries becomes the official peripherals brand for the British University Esports Championship. While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the collaboration aims to integrate high-end hardware into the collegiate ecosystem and bolster grassroots recruitment efforts.
The partnership provides students competing in the 2025 British University Esports Championship finals with access to the Arctis Nova Series gaming headsets. Beyond tournament play, SteelSeries will support the broader collegiate community by supplying branded merchandise to over 100 university gaming and esports societies. This initiative is intended to assist these societies during freshers’ fairs, facilitating the onboarding of new participants into the competitive landscape.
This sponsorship aligns with the ongoing activities of the NSE, which manages a diverse portfolio of titles including Valorant, Rocket League, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike 2. SteelSeries joins an existing roster of commercial partners supporting the organization, such as Monster Energy, Intel, and Scan Computers. The move highlights a continued focus on brand investment within the UK collegiate esports sector, emphasizing both elite-level tournament support and the expansion of local, student-led gaming communities.
