Create free accountlet me know if this is you in the comments um you are in high school or college or maybe you're looking back on your college Years and you think man I was never invited to a party and I've never been to a party like a party you know like a TV movie style party where people drink and dance and there's cool lighting and fog machines I don't even know what it looks like because I've never been I've been to some birthday parties recently that were pretty cool but other than that I just never really cared and I think that's probably why this is what I tell myself to feel better it's probably why my friend group never invited me to parties because well I kind of acted like a square here's why I acted like a square and here's why I'm glad I acted like a square and here's why you shouldn't feel bad if you're not going to parties in college basically I see your 20s as a decade where you have the most energy the most Drive in your 20s I feel
like that's a really good time that's when you have the highest level of Engagement energy to build something great when you hit your 30s you're probably going to be focused on building a family or buying a house or buying some land or frankly getting a raise with a job you hate and I knew that I knew that by the time I was in my 30s I would be exhausted and by the way I am exhausted I have two kids I'm married I have a mortgage I have some land and things are complicated so I'm very very glad that this is my job in making video games is my job and by the way if you want to learn how to make video games for free there are two links below totally free courses that I've made just for you to learn how to make video games and start your own game Studio no gimmicks click below to check those out my 20s were the time to build what I have right now so I spent my time in college honestly not even talking to friends
which I'm not saying you should do that but I rarely engaged with friends I spent most of my time building my game Studio making video games in the basement of my College library I mean that was what I did I hung out with my fiance a lot we watched a lot of TV but mainly I just focused on making games because I knew that that's what I wanted to do so if you're in college right now or you're about to go to college or maybe you're just in high school don't be thinking so much about your friend group okay and trying to make your friend group happy and compare comparing yourself to your friends they're gonna go away this whole friend group that you're so paranoid about that you're trying to impress and you're trying to one-up that girl or that guy they're going to go away and then you're going to be stuck with all of your efforts meaning nothing all of these social efforts not really meaning anything so instead I I suggest that you
invest your time especially in your 20s because you have a lot of energy invest the time in your 20s into building yourself as opposed to trying to build up the image of yourself in front of your friends think about it as Do you want to build a fake hologram that only lasts during the duration of impressing your friends or do you want to build up something real and that is your physical well-being your financial well-being your spiritual well-being um strong long-term relationships like family marriage kids that kind of thing and building a business being an entrepreneur that's what I decided to spend my 20s on and I gotta say I had a lot of friends who well I I always felt alone I felt confused I felt like I wasn't doing the right thing I felt like I was doing the wrong thing um I felt like I was cringy it's kind of hard to explain I've actually reflected
on it recently about just why why I feel alone a lot um why I felt alone a lot in college and it's just because my priorities were completely different my priorities were to build wealth to build a thriving video game Studio and to build a family and that was always always in conflict with pretty much everyone I hung out with there were a few really close friends that had the same vision but for the most part I always felt confused because I felt like I was such a loner I felt on the outside if you feel that way let me know in the comments this is why it's so important I'll close with this this is why it's so important to find friends that you want to be like as opposed to finding friends that you want to like you does that make sense so instead of trying to find friends that are your equals that you can impress just look for friends that are way better than you like in so many ways so
that when you're around them you can easily think man of course I'm not the best person in the room but I can learn so much from these people you are your friend group you become your friend group so if the majority of your time and the majority of your friends time is spent partying well that's who you are or are you focused are you energized and are you building something awesome and that can include building yourself and building your studio and building your company because let me just tell you your energy will run out for those of you in your 20s you're gonna hit your 30s and then you're gonna hit your 40s and your energy and your time is going to start doing this okay and that's okay that's the way it goes that's what happens but as your time is doing this you want to be sure that when you have this time here this isn't the only time you have to
pursue your dreams because I know for me I pursue my dreams with this time that's my full-time gig my full-time job is pursuing my dreams why because I built the groundwork and the scaffolding for a career that allows me to do stuff like this as my full-time job making video games is my full-time job building businesses having fun ideas and just putting them out there making movies that's my full-time job because I can because I've built that scaffolding and I did that in my 20s so if you're in your 20s I highly suggest not feeling insecure about your friend group and about whether you're going to parties but instead focus on building up your future because this is the time right now is the time to do it again be sure to click those links below if you want to learn how to make video games there's free courses below totally free no gimmicks and we'll see you on well the programs and if not that's totally fine leave a comment leave a like subscribe
do all that cool stuff and I will talk to you guys later where's the where's the button there it is cheers
The pursuit of long-term professional success and entrepreneurial stability requires a strategic reallocation of time during one's twenties, a period characterized by peak physical energy and cognitive drive. Rather than prioritizing social validation or participation in traditional collegiate party culture, aspiring game developers and entrepreneurs should focus on building foundational assets, such as a business, financial security, and professional skills. The core thesis posits that the social pressures of youth are ephemeral, whereas the efforts invested in building a career during this high-energy decade provide the necessary scaffolding for sustained professional autonomy in later life.
The transition into one's thirties often brings increased personal responsibilities, including family commitments and financial obligations, which naturally diminish the time available for high-risk professional experimentation. By dedicating the twenties to intensive skill acquisition and studio development, individuals can establish a career trajectory that allows them to pursue creative projects as a primary occupation rather than a secondary endeavor. This approach requires a shift in social strategy: instead of seeking peer groups based on social status or shared leisure activities, individuals should cultivate relationships with mentors or peers who possess superior skills and ambitious visions.
Ultimately, the quality of one's professional output is inextricably linked to the environment and habits one maintains. By prioritizing the development of a business and personal well-being over the pursuit of social conformity, entrepreneurs can ensure that their limited time and energy are directed toward building a sustainable future. This philosophy emphasizes that the discomfort of feeling like an outsider during one's formative years is a small price to pay for the long-term freedom to work on meaningful, self-directed projects.
