This acquisition integrates Beastcoast's teams and media business into M80's existing operations. M80 will not retain the Beastcoast brand name.
North American esports organization M80 has acquired the esports entity Beastcoast for an undisclosed sum. The transaction serves to integrate Beastcoast’s competitive teams and media assets into M80’s existing business structure. While M80 intends to absorb the acquired operations, it does not plan to maintain the Beastcoast brand moving forward.
The acquisition includes Beastcoast’s Dota 2 team and a Pokémon-focused media business, the latter of which generates approximately 175 million views annually across its digital platforms. As part of the transition, Beastcoast CEO Grant Zinn will join M80 as the chief business development officer to support the organization’s expansion into new regions, such as South America, and to further develop engagement in niche esports titles. Notably, the deal excludes Beastcoast’s Rainbow Six Siege roster, as M80 already maintains a competing team in that title.
M80 confirmed that the acquisition is supported by additional capital investments, though the specific sources of this funding remain undisclosed. This move aligns with M80’s broader strategy to scale its operations and diversify its competitive portfolio, which currently includes Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, and sim racing. The integration of Beastcoast’s personnel and assets is intended to accelerate the growth momentum M80 has established since its inception in 2023.
