Lenovo Partners With the Esports World Cup

The Esports World Cup Foundation has secured a partnership with Lenovo, designating the company’s Legion brand as the official PC and gaming hardware provider for the 2025 Esports World Cup. The event, a seven-week, multi-title competition held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, runs from July 7 through August 24, 2025. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the deal integrates Lenovo’s hardware into the core infrastructure of the tournament.

Under the terms of the partnership, Lenovo will supply Legion Tower 7i and 5i desktops, Legion Pro 7i laptops, and various gaming peripherals for use by participants in both tournament play and practice facilities. Beyond hardware provision, the collaboration includes significant branding exposure for Lenovo across global broadcasts, digital content, and onsite festival zones where attendees can engage with the company’s products. Lenovo will also leverage its social media channels to promote its involvement in the event.

The Esports World Cup is managed by the Esports World Cup Foundation and operated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of the Saudi government-owned Savvy Games Group. The event is funded by a sports grant from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. As with other major Saudi-backed sporting initiatives, the tournament faces ongoing scrutiny from international human rights organizations regarding the potential use of such events for sports washing. Despite these criticisms, the partnership underscores the continued expansion of the Saudi-led esports ecosystem through high-profile commercial alliances with global technology brands.
