Braithwaite brings extensive experience to the role.
ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has appointed industry veteran Sam Braithwaite as its new vice president of game ecosystems for mobile. This strategic hire is intended to bolster the organization’s leadership in the mobile esports sector, specifically by overseeing the direction of the Snapdragon Pro Series, a collaborative mobile circuit involving Qualcomm Technologies, Samsung, and ESL.
Braithwaite brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as the global director of esports at Activision Blizzard for nearly four years. During his tenure there, he managed major titles including Hearthstone and World of Warcraft. His background also includes over three years in various leadership and product management roles at Blizzard, where he oversaw franchises such as Heroes of the Storm and StarCraft II, as well as a prior tenure as the director of esports at S2 Games.
The appointment follows EFG’s recent expansion of the Snapdragon Pro Series, which includes the integration of Call of Duty: Mobile. By securing a seasoned executive with a deep history in franchise management and esports operations, EFG aims to strengthen its competitive mobile gaming ecosystem and capitalize on the growing influence of mobile platforms within the global esports industry.
