The Esports World Cup Foundation has secured a partnership with global mobile phone manufacturer HONOR, naming the company a main partner for the inaugural Esports World Cup. The event, which takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, spans eight weeks from July 3 to August 25, 2024. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration integrates HONOR’s technology directly into the tournament’s infrastructure.
Under the terms of the deal, the HONOR 200 Pro smartphone has been designated as the official device for several mobile esports competitions, including Free Fire, Honor of Kings, and the Women’s ML:BB tournament. The partnership aims to leverage the global reach of the competition to strengthen brand identity and foster community engagement within the competitive gaming sector.
The Esports World Cup is a significant multi-discipline event funded by a grant from the Saudi Arabian government. The tournament is facilitated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of the Savvy Games Group, which is owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The event features a wide array of professional teams competing across various titles, including Call of Duty: Warzone, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. This sponsorship reflects the broader strategic investment by the Saudi government into the global esports ecosystem.
