The South Korean game development studio Super Storm will leverage Gen.G Esports' infrastructure to promote its 5v5 hyper-action title, Storm Striker.
South Korean game development studio Super Storm has entered a strategic partnership with global esports organization Gen.G Esports to facilitate the North American launch of its title, Storm Striker. The game is a 5v5 hyper-action title that integrates elements from the first-person shooter, action, and MOBA genres. While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration focuses on leveraging Gen.G’s established infrastructure to drive user acquisition and community engagement.
The promotional strategy centers on Gen.G’s extensive collegiate network and digital presence. Marketing efforts include content creation featuring former professional players, social media campaigns, and targeted activations within Gen.G’s college gaming club program. Additionally, the partnership aims to cultivate an English-speaking Discord community and host tailored gameplay contests to increase overall player retention and engagement. The campaign’s initial phase features streaming content from Overwatch creator and semi-professional player Becca “Aspen” Rukavina.
This initiative represents Gen.G’s ongoing commitment to the North American collegiate and scholastic esports sectors, building upon its history of academic partnerships and youth programs. The deal marks the organization’s second direct collaboration with a game developer to promote a specific title, following a 2022 partnership with Nimble Neuron for the game Eternal Return. By utilizing its existing academic and competitive frameworks, Gen.G intends to establish a structured esports strategy for the new title within the North American market.
