GameUp Rebrands and Launches AI-Powered Educational Platform

GameUp Africa, a prominent talent development initiative for the African gaming sector, has rebranded as GameUp Academy. This transition marks a strategic shift from a cohort-based model to an always-on, AI-powered educational platform. The initiative aims to streamline the process for aspiring creators to develop technical skills, produce practical game projects, and secure professional opportunities within the global creative industry.

The platform’s development is informed by five years of operational experience, during which the program attracted over 6,000 applicants from more than 40 countries and facilitated the publication of 161 game projects. By integrating artificial intelligence, the academy seeks to modernize traditional education by offering personalized learning paths that allow students to progress at their own pace, moving away from the constraints of fixed curricula and scheduled training cycles.

This evolution reflects a broader industry trend toward incorporating AI into both educational delivery and game development workflows. While the platform adopts new technology to enhance accessibility and efficiency, it maintains the core community and industry networking components that characterized its predecessor.
