The Esports World Cup Foundation has released the official schedule for its 2025 multi-title competition, which is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 10 to August 24. The event spans seven weeks and features a diverse array of competitive gaming titles, including Valorant, Dota 2, League of Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Counter-Strike 2, among others. Matches will be held across four dedicated arenas, with participating organizations competing for points to secure the top position in the overall Esports World Cup Club Championship.
The tournament is supported by a $70 million USD prize pool. Following the conclusion of the gaming competitions, the event will transition into the New Global Sport Conference, an industry-focused gathering for executives in gaming, entertainment, and sports, scheduled for August 23–24. The Esports World Cup is funded by the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund and is operated by the ESL FACEIT Group, a subsidiary of the state-owned Savvy Games Group.
The initiative continues to draw scrutiny from international human rights organizations, which have previously raised concerns regarding the use of such large-scale entertainment events as a form of sports washing. Despite these criticisms, the event remains a significant fixture in the global esports calendar, emphasizing high-stakes competition and industry networking within the Middle Eastern market.
