It represents an annual commitment of $11 million.
The ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has unveiled its strategic roadmap for the 2025 Counter-Strike 2 ESL Pro Tour (EPT), signaling a significant financial commitment to the game’s competitive ecosystem. The organization plans to invest more than $22 million USD over the 2025 and 2026 calendar years, amounting to an annual contribution of $11 million. This funding is intended to support the circuit’s infrastructure, including travel, accommodations, and on-site hospitality for participating teams, alongside the continuation of the $1 million Intel Grand Slam prize.
The 2025 schedule features a global circuit comprising two championship events—IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne—and five Masters-level competitions, including the ESL Pro League Seasons 21 and 22, IEM Dallas, IEM Chengdu, and a newly scheduled IEM event in April. In alignment with Valve’s regulatory requirements for Counter-Strike 2, the 2025 EPT will implement an open slot system, facilitating participation for semi-pro and professional teams through regional qualifiers. Additionally, EFG intends to foster grassroots development through ESEA Leagues hosted on the FACEIT platform.
This roadmap builds upon the commercial momentum of the 2024 season, which reportedly generated over 140 million watch hours across major events. EFG, a subsidiary of the Savvy Games Group, continues to position its tournament circuit as a primary driver for professional Counter-Strike competition. By integrating diverse levels of play across multiple continents, the organization aims to maintain its long-standing influence in the esports sector while providing a structured pathway for both established organizations and emerging talent.
