Embracer Group
Embracer Group purchased the remaining 50 percent stake from the studio's five founders.
Embracer Group has finalized the full acquisition of Palindrome Interactive, a Skövde-based strategy game developer, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Amplifier. By purchasing the remaining 50 percent stake from the studio’s five founders, Embracer Group assumes total ownership of the company. The transaction involves an upfront payment of 21.5 million SEK, split between cash and Embracer B shares, alongside two performance-based earnout milestones totaling 20 million SEK in shares, contingent upon achieving specific net contribution targets over the next five and ten years.
Founded in 2015 by University of Skövde alumni, Palindrome Interactive currently employs 14 in-house developers and maintains a focus on single-player strategy, empire management, and turn-based combat mechanics. The studio’s portfolio includes the title Immortal Realms: Vampire Wars, published by Kalypso Media, and a major unannounced strategy project currently in development in collaboration with Coffee Stain Publishing. This acquisition aligns with the studio’s long-term ambition to establish itself as a global leader within the strategy genre.
The integration of Palindrome Interactive into the Embracer Group ecosystem strengthens the parent company’s presence in the Swedish game development sector. By securing both existing intellectual property and a robust development pipeline, the deal provides Embracer Group with increased creative capacity in the strategy segment. The acquisition structure emphasizes long-term growth, with earnout incentives tied to the commercial success of future titles, ensuring that the studio’s development output remains aligned with the broader financial objectives of the parent organization.
