Electronic Arts announced the ALGS Year 4, continuing its commitment to the competitive ecosystem. This prize pool is distributed across three major in-person LAN events.
Electronic Arts has announced the structure and financial details for Year 4 of the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS), signaling a continued commitment to its competitive ecosystem. The upcoming season features a total prize pool of $5 million USD, distributed across three major in-person LAN events: the Split 1 Playoffs, the Split 2 Playoffs, and the year-end Championship. These events are supported by ongoing Pro League and Challenger Circuit competitions.
The announcement follows a period of growth for the series, as Year 3 metrics demonstrated positive momentum across key engagement indicators. Participation in the previous season increased by 19% year-on-year, while total watch time rose by 22% to reach 47.9 million hours. Furthermore, the average minute audience grew by 13% to 130,383, and YouTube video viewership saw an 18% increase, totaling 2.6 million hours.
Strategic adjustments for Year 4 include the expansion of the competitive field to include teams from China, who will be invited to participate in both the Split 1 and Split 2 Playoffs, with pathways to qualify for the Championship based on performance. Conversely, South America will no longer maintain a dedicated Pro League, though teams from the region retain a path to LAN events through the South American Challenger Circuit. Each LAN event will maintain a 40-team format, ensuring representation from North America, EMEA, APAC North, APAC South, South America, and China. These changes reflect an evolving global strategy for the title’s professional circuit as it enters its fourth year of operation.
