Bandai Namco
Bandai Namco Group’s first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2025 demonstrate strong financial growth driven by a diverse portfolio of intellectual property and robust performance across its core business segments. The company reported consolidated net sales of 280.6 billion yen, representing a significant increase over the 224.8 billion yen recorded in the same period of the previous year. Operating profit rose to 44.0 billion yen, up from 27.9 billion yen, reflecting the successful execution of its global strategy and the popularity of key product releases.
The Digital Business segment served as a primary growth driver, with segment profit surging to 14.7 billion yen from 2.6 billion yen the prior year. This performance was bolstered by the successful launch of downloadable content for Elden Ring, which sold over 8 million units in its first three days, alongside strong results from new mobile application titles. The Toys and Hobby segment also maintained momentum, with segment profit reaching 26.9 billion yen. Growth in this area was supported by consistent demand for model kits, trading card games, and capsule toys, as well as an expanded global footprint.
In response to these positive first-quarter outcomes and updated marketing plans, the company has revised its first-half forecasts upward, now projecting net sales of 555.0 billion yen and an operating profit of 82.0 billion yen. While the full-year outlook remains unchanged at this stage, management intends to re-evaluate these projections later in the year, accounting for the release of major titles in the third quarter and anticipated seasonal trends during the Christmas and New Year periods. The company continues to prioritize a unified global marketing approach and the strategic allocation of resources to sustain long-term value across its entertainment, amusement, and IP production units.
