Bandai Namco
Bandai Namco Group’s first-half results for the fiscal year ending March 2025 demonstrate significant financial growth, characterized by record-setting performance across its core business segments. The company reported net sales of 611.3 billion yen and an operating profit of 113.6 billion yen for the first half, representing substantial increases over the previous year’s results and exceeding initial forecasts. Driven by these strong interim figures and favorable market trends, the group has revised its full-year outlook upward, now projecting annual net sales of 1,150 billion yen and an operating profit of 160 billion yen.
The Digital business segment served as a primary growth engine, bolstered by the sustained popularity of the Elden Ring franchise, which saw strong repeat sales and downloadable content performance, alongside the successful launch of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Simultaneously, the Toys and Hobby segment maintained momentum through robust demand for model kits, card games, and capsule toys, supported by an expanded global footprint. The IP Production and Amusement segments also contributed positively, with the former benefiting from successful film and streaming content, and the latter seeing an 8.8% year-on-year increase in sales at existing amusement facilities in Japan.
To sustain this trajectory, the group is implementing strategic initiatives focused on medium- to long-term growth. These include optimizing global marketing structures, tightening development quality controls, and investing in infrastructure, such as the construction of a new factory at the Bandai Hobby Center. By leveraging its diverse intellectual property portfolio across digital, physical, and location-based entertainment, the company aims to deepen fan engagement and expand its reach to younger demographics, ensuring continued relevance in a competitive global market.
