Create free accountthere's a reason this VR headset is going to be released and I don't think apple is telling us exactly what it is they know something that we don't we'll talk about that at the end of this video the era of spatial Computing is here okay so right off the bat that looks creepy that just looks weird when you put on Apple Vision Pro you see your world and everything in it so this right here this scene right here is one of my major gripes with the VR headset who's doing this who's sitting on a couch looking at their apps I'm trying to figure out exactly like maybe I would want to do this if I was working for example if I was making video games because I'm I'm a game developer if I was making video games would I want to sit there with my hands folded wearing a heavy VR headset and by the way this headset is much heavier than its competitors and would I want to use a new Os from Apple and project this into
my living room it's familiar yet groundbreaking you navigate with your eyes now I have a lot of gripes with this VR headset again mainly with its use case what exactly is this for but the eye technology the eye tracking technology is unbelievable I'm incredibly impressed with this U basically you can look around and the screen will track using all the sensors it will track your pupil and figure out what you're looking at precisely and the way that I see this I haven't tried it on I haven't I haven't tested it but the way that I see this working traditionally is well not working at all being very difficult and imprecise but knowing Apple this is probably Perfection it's probably perfect the way that the eye tracking Works however I'm struggling because I'm struggling to see the use case of the VR headset I see this actually being applied to all of Apple's products I see the iMac and the
MacBook and the Apple displays all having ey tracking technology and somehow assisting the trackpad usage so instead of scrolling over with a trackpad or scrolling over with a mouse your mouse will automatically go to that location that you're looking at and all you got to do is tap your finger tap your finger that's all you got to do imagine there being a sensor on the keyboard and all you have to do is just tap that sensor this could potentially double productivity because we're quickly moving from one area to the next on our screen but again in a VR headset that's where I'm struggling to see this being applicable it looks sounds and feels like they are physically there foundational to Apple Vision Pro is that you're not isolated from other people I'm sorry I just don't I cannot see this being like they put so much money and Technology into this screen projecting your eyes cuz that's not
actually see-through it's projecting your eyes it's got a camera that's recording your eyes and it's projecting it back to others that looks creepy it looks weird when someone else is in the room you can see them and they can see you talk to me about sushi sushi all right see you take care because you're not limited by a display so this is pretty cool right um it doesn't have a controller uh the way that you select things is you simply look at them and then tap your fingers right that's pretty cool right VR in my mind is definitely used for entertainment it's used for gaming so this might be cool but now I'm thinking well how are we going to play video games like this right I can understand playing simple apps on the Apple App Store but what about actual video games well you can connect a controller but again we're playing Apple applications here we're not actually playing well
dare I say real video games this is coming some from somebody who actually has worked with apple and released games on Apple arcade my game is very simplistic right the games released on Apple arcade are very simplistic anything more complicated than that is going to need a controller and frankly better Hardware because the entire Hardware is in the headset it's not connected to a console across your living room it's in the headset so now I'm thinking is it going to get hot uh are there fans are we going to hear the fans and if it's not going to get hot and if there aren't fans it's probably not very powerful Hardware that can't actually run real video games Apple Vision Pro is Apple's first ever 3D camera is it just me or is that that's really really creepy there's something creepy about a dad wearing a VR headset walking around the house taking pictures of his family now I can understand that this might be a really cool gimmick or a novelty at first
but I think at the end of the day we're going to spend $3,500 on a VR headset we're going to do this once and we're never going to do it do it again because everyone around us asked us to stop I think it's really really awkward and and and creepy especially and you know I'm really surprised that Apple released this footage um in this keynote because I feel like this is definitely meme worthy and they even put the Laughing track over top of this to make it sound even more creepy experiences on Vision Pro can also expand in three dimensions filling the entirety of your space like in the mindfulness app where you can create a moment of calm oh my word what Have We Become this is really depressing I there's something wrong here not with the tech the tech is amazing and I know
I know that it's going to become mainstream I know that this is going to become I I I know that I'm going to be I'm probably going to get one and I know that I'm probably going to wear it while I'm driving I know I'm probably going to wear it while I'm working eventually the the newer versions not this one this is depressing the fact that we're going to wear a VR headset to meditate is just I in a weird way doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose medit a is the point of meditation is to be able to block out the noise and do it with your own will not with a VR headset Apple Vision Pro brings the scale and wonder of a movie theater to whatever space you're in it automatically darkens and casts a beautiful glow into the room 100% this is a great application there's one major issue here
the headset's battery life the headset's battery life is two hours most movies are over two hours or if you want to binge a show you can only binge a couple episodes so I'm trying to figure out what do we do here do I need to buy a bonus battery pack I mean it's even it's it's strange already that there's a battery pack hanging down the back of your neck and in your pocket that alone is strange to me and it it it honestly it doesn't feel very Apple now I get it the hardware it's gonna need a battery pack I understand that but I just don't know if they're going to be able to get away with this at least for this model and for an extraordinary cinematic experience you can bring in a beautiful environment and make your screen feel 100 ft wide so I'm pretty sure I know what's going to happen here movies Disney plus Netflix shows they're going to include environments that are added on to the film or the TV show itself
what I mean here is there's going to be realtime three-dimensional environments that fade in and out with every scene so that if I want to look away from the screen I'm going to get a specific environment relative to that scene so you can imagine Star Wars if I'm watching let's say Star Wars A New Hope I can look around and see the Galaxy or I can see the planet as I'm watching a specific scene that's sweet I think that's great but again battery life battery life that's all I'm thinking about is battery life what happens when your VR headset runs out of batteries I guess you're done watching the movie right Vision Pro is a wonderful way to play your favorite games Curry it but it's not unless Apple maybe they're right unless they believe they're creating a totally new platform and developers are going to rush in and create some incredible
games the games on Apple are not they're not real games they're they're like Indie Games I make indie games so I I made an indie game for Apple right they're not real games okay so a legitimate gamer as it stands they're not going to get this thing they're not going to spend 3,500 bucks or whatever it is to play Apple games they're basically they're basically mobile games now Apple's Pro if they're willing to invest their money in the VR headset they're probably going to invest their money in developers that are releasing legitimate games my guess is that they're going to attempt to maybe compete with Nintendo I I don't see them competing with Microsoft or Sony here because Microsoft and Sony games they're not going to run on this thing but Nintendo switch style games will run on this thing so I'm pretty sure they're going to attack the Nintendo switch Market that's younger Gamers creative gamers social games kids games but other
than that we're not going to be playing Elden ring on this thing your favorite apps from Apple and the App Store are there you can arrange them however you like and work seamlessly across them is it just me or does this feel does using your finger like this feel really uneconomical I'd rather just use a mouse and just move it so I'm I'm I'm feeling like this is a gimmick I there's something wrong here I feel like apple knows something we don't cuz I'm not going to do this maybe I'm getting old but I'm not going to do this I'd rather use a mouse hi hey hi did you receive the deck yeah I'm looking at it now oh great so what did you think FaceTime looks and sounds amazing in apple Vision Pro I can imagine the FaceTime being a legit use
case here for example if you have family across the country or in another country uh might be really great way to hang out with family but honestly I'd rather just FaceTime them on my phone because the phone has a camera looking at my face whereas this does not youu people life siiz and with spatial audio you hear them as if they're right in front of you the truth is I think what Apple's probably going to do here is some sort of augmented reality application but it looks like apparently it's not ready now but what they should do is they should allow you to walk around your house with people in your house um they can be 3D avatars that's totally fine so I'd much rather be able to talk to an avatar of let's say my brother or my parents if we're across the country I can plop them into my apartment or my house and talk to them that way this right here I don't think that's that's what this VR headset is
best for and because you see the world around you you can glance at a notification great and even connect your Mac simply by looking at it turning a 13-in screen into a giant display that's cool but again 2hour battery life massive heavy headset on your face so is it worth it I don't think so in apple Vision Pro you can also transform your space beautiful environments let you extend beyond the dimensions of your room like on a plane couple questions here first off they play the sound of a baby crying in this trailer yet the baby's crying isn't G to go away because you're not wearing
headphones unless the speakers are playing so loudly in your ears that you don't hear the baby but in that case everybody's going to hear your speakers I'm I'm a little confused here I'm not saying that they're wrong I just don't part of me feels a little manipulated like this you're still going to hear that baby right um so yeah unless you want to wear noise cancelling headphones in that case your head is going to be about 20 lbs there's just some something about all these shots that are just incredibly depressing it really does feel dystopian so this is an odd keynote I think they know something we don't I think that they're releasing this knowing that it's not going to blow up right A lot of people might compare this to the iPad because everyone was making fun of the iPad just before it launched but then it launched and everybody realized it was great right I think this Situation's a little bit different instead I feel like Apple knows that this is not ideal but they've
got to break into the market first what I mean is they're not releasing a video game VR headset they're releasing something more it's primarily an augmented reality social tool that's my theory AKA this is for the metaverse it's for us to hang out with avatars in an augmented reality again we talked about this earli in this video being able to walk around in your apartment but the apartment looks way better than your actual apartment your avatar is more attractive than you are your friends look like themselves but they're a little bit more beautiful and you can tweak your environment customize your world for 0 well let's be honest they're going to charge us to be able to change the wallpaper of our apartment but it's going to be significantly cheaper than actually changing your apartment's wallpaper so at the end of the day I think this is a social tool I think this is a social experiment all in all would
I buy this thing no do I think it's the future probably it doesn't make me happy though it's kind of depressing honestly most of this is just depressing
This analysis examines the Apple Vision Pro, evaluating its technical capabilities, potential use cases, and the broader implications of its market entry. The primary thesis suggests that while the hardware represents a significant leap in spatial computing and eye-tracking technology, the current iteration serves as a foundational social experiment rather than a polished consumer product. The analysis highlights a disconnect between Apple’s marketing and the practical realities of daily usage, specifically regarding comfort, battery limitations, and the social awkwardness of wearing a headset in domestic environments.
Key findings emphasize that the device’s eye-tracking and gesture-based navigation are highly impressive, potentially signaling a shift in how users will interact with future computing interfaces. However, the hardware faces significant hurdles, including a two-hour battery life, excessive weight, and a lack of high-fidelity gaming software. While the device excels in cinematic experiences and potentially as a tool for remote communication, the analysis argues that its current form factor and high price point make it an impractical choice for mainstream gaming or professional productivity.
The scope of this assessment covers the consumer electronics and gaming sectors, specifically focusing on the intersection of virtual reality and social interaction. The analysis relies on a critical review of Apple’s promotional materials and keynote presentations, contrasting the company’s vision of a seamless, augmented reality future with the perceived dystopian and isolating nature of the technology. Ultimately, the conclusion posits that Apple is prioritizing market entry to establish a platform for future social and metaverse-oriented applications, even if the current product remains a niche, experimental device that fails to offer a compelling value proposition for the average user.
