The 11 bit studios financial report for the first half of 2024 outlines the company’s performance, characterized by revenue growth alongside increased operational expenditures. The primary objective of the report is to provide transparency regarding the firm’s financial health and the commercial trajectory of its recent portfolio, including both first-party titles and third-party publishing efforts.
Financially, the company achieved PLN 30.76 million ($7.95 million) in revenue, representing a 24.1% year-over-year increase. Despite this growth, the firm recorded a net loss of PLN 477.8k ($123.6k), a decline from the PLN 4 million profit reported in the same period of 2023. This shift is attributed to a 49.38% rise in operating costs, driven by marketing investments and royalty payments associated with upcoming major releases. Geographically, the United States remains the dominant market, contributing 76% of total revenue, followed by the United Kingdom at 11%.
A key finding concerns the performance of The Thaumaturge, developed by Fool’s Theory. The company has adjusted its projections, concluding that net revenue from the title will not reach the PLN 45 million ($11.65 million) threshold required to trigger a second tranche payment to the developer. Consequently, the value of this obligation has been set to zero. Conversely, the company noted that the title Indika has successfully recouped its costs. Looking ahead, management remains optimistic, citing the upcoming launches of Frostpunk 2 and The Alters as catalysts for record-breaking financial performance between 2024 and 2026.
