Create free accountokay this Jonah's making games with you and this has already been three entire months or almost three entire months of full-time game development and YouTube today I just want to talk with you about a couple of things that are on my mind for example how has it gone with YouTube lately how's it coming with game development lately where will we go from here what will happen next first of all did we reach the goals did we reach the milestones I wanted to finish a vertical slice of August over this month it's not even close I didn't get it done there are still a lot missing graphics even more gameplay features in terms of the subscriber google it looks pretty damn good I'm pretty happy with the growth of the YouTube channel I'm also quite happy about the new site project when you snail snailed it did you snail whatever you want to call it so yeah I'm still very excited for my projects and we're still very excited I started this journey with you but there's one big change coming up that you might not like but that I need to try and that's weekly videos that means any videos will
continue to this Sunday and then from Sunday videos will be weekly and they will come out every Sunday 16 p.m. Central European Time and I know you're thinking now I watch everyday and I understand those feelings I really got used to the daily interaction with you as well I'm really gonna miss it as well so why do I do with them why do I inflict that pain upon you the answer is simple firstly I'm going back to Berlin to continue my game design studies there which means I'm gonna be at university for six or eight hours per day and in combination with you two I don't really see that working because uploading daily videos pretty much is a full-time job in itself combine that with University I don't think that's possible I don't think I can hold that off second reason is I want to try out if I can get better
results by making one quality video per week instead of making seven mediocre ones it was absolutely the correct decision to start with daily videos because now we already have a content base of about 80 videos but I think going forward making one quality video per week would be an interesting experiment does it work does it not work will it be better and then three months from now we can see how it went we can either go back to normal to daily uploads or we can keep doing weekly or maybe we can do twice a week or something in between just want to try this out I tried 1 X 3 now I want to go to the other extreme maybe you remember in the last monthly review I said that doing this everyday and doing this daily is the only hard thing about it and that's still true I still want to do this every day but that doesn't mean that I want to make a video every day I want to work on this project every day on this YouTube channel on my games I still want to do that I still want to keep going I still want to put a lot of work into that I just need a little more room firstly to continue my studies and
to do some cool projects with my friends there and secondly to try some new stuff to become better at what I'm doing and to make better videos hopefully I just wanna have a bit more time for game development for actually learning new stuff that doesn't mean that I'm about to quit by any chance of the imagination as I've said in yesterday's video patience and consistency are really important factors and I will definitely just keep going and keep going and keep going but the way we're gonna go forward from now on it's gonna be a little different and I'm a little sad about it you're probably gonna be a little sad about it or a couple of you I want to do this experiment I want to see how it goes I want to see how it feels both for me as well as for you so yeah we just write out and if it doesn't work we'll just change it back in three months no problem at all and if you feel like oh no I have a hole in my heart now how do I plug that hole ah then I have the solution for you simply follow my social media because I will still push our daily content there or at least that's the plan do we have Twitter my favourite platform at the moment then Instagram and
Facebook calls a little bit on top of that if you want to keep interacting with me I set up a little discord server nothing special you know but link is in the description you can simply join there we can hang out have a good time you know and we can have a little chat there we'll see where it takes us so if you want to stay in touch social media and this court is a great way to do this otherwise I'll see you every Sunday 4 p.m. yeah I just realized that was pretty much what I wanted to talk about that's not really all that much more we need to discuss and then it's going well it's going well I'm having found the games are going very well a little slower than anticipated but still very well good progress everything is awesome so you're quite a bit of cool game DEFCON 10 plan for the next days so stay tuned for that thanks for watching my videos every day you're absolutely awesome make the world your playground have an amazing day to you in the next one [Music]

After three months of full-time independent game development and content creation, the transition from daily to weekly video uploads marks a strategic shift in production philosophy. While the initial period of daily uploads successfully established a foundational library of approximately 80 videos and fostered significant channel growth, the current pace is unsustainable due to the creator’s return to university studies in Berlin. By shifting to a weekly schedule, the objective is to prioritize content quality over quantity, allowing for more focused game development and deeper exploration of complex design topics that are difficult to cover in a daily format.
The development of current game projects continues to progress, though the timeline for completing a vertical slice has proven more ambitious than initially anticipated, with several graphics and gameplay features still requiring refinement. Despite the slower-than-expected development pace, the overall trajectory remains positive. The move to a weekly release cycle is framed as a three-month experiment to determine if higher-quality production yields better long-term engagement than the previous high-frequency model.
To maintain community connection during this transition, the strategy involves leveraging social media platforms and a dedicated Discord server to facilitate daily interaction. This approach ensures that while long-form video content becomes less frequent, the creator remains accessible to the audience. The ultimate goal remains consistent: balancing academic responsibilities with professional game development and content creation, with the flexibility to revert to daily or semi-weekly uploads if the experimental weekly format does not meet performance expectations.
