Unity
Unity reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2026, highlighting a period of strategic realignment and significant revenue growth. Total revenue reached $508 million, a 17% increase year-over-year, driven primarily by a 35% surge in strategic revenue, which totaled $432 million. This growth was supported by strong performance in the company’s Grow Solutions segment, which rose 24% to $352 million, while Create Solutions revenue grew 4% to $157 million.
The company’s bottom line was heavily impacted by non-recurring charges related to a major portfolio restructuring. Unity recorded a GAAP net loss of $347 million, largely due to $279 million in impairment charges associated with the sunsetting of the ironSource Ad network and the planned divestiture of the Supersonic publishing business. Despite this GAAP loss, the company demonstrated improved operational efficiency, reporting an adjusted EBITDA of $138 million—a 27% margin—compared to $84 million in the same period last year. Free cash flow also saw substantial improvement, rising to $66 million from $7 million in the first quarter of 2025.
Looking ahead, Unity provided guidance for the second quarter of 2026, projecting total revenue between $505 million and $515 million and an adjusted EBITDA of $130 million to $135 million. The company remains focused on its product roadmap, specifically the expansion of its "Unity Vector" technology across both Create and Grow solutions. Management expressed confidence in the company’s trajectory, citing expectations to achieve GAAP profitability by the fourth quarter of 2026 as it continues to optimize its business model and focus on core strategic growth areas.
