The mobile gaming landscape in Nigeria experienced significant revenue generation during the first half of 2023, with the top ten titles collectively earning over $1.2 million. This analysis, conducted in collaboration with AppMagic, aims to quantify the revenue potential of the Nigerian mobile gaming market and identify key performance trends among leading titles.
The data highlights three primary revenue drivers that dominated the market during this six-month period. Candy Crush Saga secured the top position, generating over $330,000 in revenue, with its strongest performance occurring in May. Call of Duty: Mobile followed as the leading action shooter, accumulating more than $192,000. PUBG Mobile rounded out the top three, contributing nearly $170,000 to the total market revenue.
The findings reflect a broader effort to map the mobile gaming ecosystem across the African continent, following similar assessments of the Algerian and Egyptian markets. By leveraging mobile analytics data, the analysis provides a snapshot of consumer spending habits and the commercial success of major international franchises within Nigeria. The results underscore the continued dominance of established global titles in the region, while also noting the competitive tension between major shooters like Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile, which is influenced by varying levels of local community engagement.
