Tencent
Tencent’s 2025 annual and fourth-quarter results demonstrate sustained financial growth driven by core business resilience and strategic investments in artificial intelligence. For the full year, total revenues reached RMB751.8 billion, representing a 14% year-on-year increase, while non-IFRS net profit rose 18% to RMB267.0 billion. The company’s fourth-quarter performance mirrored this momentum, with revenues of RMB194.4 billion, a 13% increase over the same period in 2024.
Growth was supported by strong performance across key segments. Value-added services revenue grew 16% annually, bolstered by an 18% increase in domestic games and a 33% surge in international games, the latter surpassing USD10 billion in annual revenue. Marketing services also saw significant gains, rising 19% due to AI-enhanced ad targeting and increased user engagement within the Weixin ecosystem. Additionally, the FinTech and business services segment grew 8% annually, with cloud services benefiting from heightened enterprise demand for AI-related infrastructure.
Tencent’s strategic focus remains on integrating AI across its product suite, including the HY 3.0 large language model and consumer-facing tools like Yuanbao and WorkBuddy. These investments are supported by a robust cash position, with free cash flow reaching RMB182.6 billion for the year. The company continues to prioritize operational efficiency, evidenced by an improved non-IFRS operating margin of 37% for 2025. Sustainability remains a core objective, with the company progressing toward its 2030 carbon neutrality target and maintaining high engagement in philanthropic initiatives. These results reflect a successful transition toward AI-driven service models while maintaining the stability of established digital entertainment and social platforms.
