Create free accountforeign it's the very end of the day here at Pocket Gamer connects 2022 in Helsinki and I am now joined by Aruna matua from shareit how are you doing today very well James thanks for having me here well folks may not know may not have encountered your product before what is share it what's it all about good question shared is a is a big big app globally uh well the the people in Europe people in nordics do not know about it uh and that's where we are here participating for the first time in in nordics region so that we could present what a product is all about what is shared all about uh we are we are the world's largest sharing app uh which is peer-to-peer sharing uh when I and when I say peer-to-peer sharing it's sharing anything between two phones which are in proximity
so if arunab wants to share something with James any file or any document or any video or any app on his phone to his phone he does it using share it because it becomes simple one the journeys of shareit are very intrinsic to the platform that means also that when a app or any content moves from one app or one phone to another wire share it the quality is very high it's recommended because you share some things with your friend with your peer with your family somebody you know and you can recommend so that's one two Journeys are are agnostic of last click that also means that they're high quality because anybody else you look at Google you look at Facebook you look at Twitter snap Tick Tock everyone's running for the last click attribution which is you know in a 7 21 30 day window
our Journeys are agnostic of that because they're within the platform three uh the user Journeys are very very high while you can share anything on the phone which is the content on the phone the largest user Journeys and the revenue generators for us is is a sharing of an APK or sharing of an app and that's what we drive what drives a largest conversation on our platform uh and let me let me Define that a little more to you uh five verticals which really work on our one performance when we break down the digital business into branding and performance we're a large performance set of publisher we drive gaming uh Ecom fintech Ott or video travel and a few more large you know performance verticals which work on our platform very very well for a simple reason people like to share as a human behavior we like to share things
we like to share with the family it could be food it could be love it could be anything which it's it's it it's intrinsic to our human behavior and that's what we try and Implement to our to an app by recommending people so if James like to like to share something at James's since we're in the gaming conference let's be focused on gaming James plays a game which is a Garena free fire or midcore game or or maybe a pubg from tencent or simply a Candy Crush from King and Aaron doesn't have that game he would recommend he say hey I don't know have you really played this game and would you like to play that game now the game size could be anywhere between a few KBS to multiple GPS for example big games like kodem free fire uh pubg are like two two and a half GBS right he could share that game to Aruna but I share it within seconds and we the sharing happens via Android
Wi-Fi via Bluetooth I was going to ask what the first call was yeah and and and there is no data required so all sharing happens in offline mode and that's where the the existence of shares really came in about six seven years back because up until then Bluetooth has been one of the main systems to use it but obviously even with Bluetooth 5 it still has kind of you know limitations on its bandwidth so that's that we've always worked on big files get shared within a few seconds and that's the beauty of a product and that's what really drives so while the data penetration has has increased in in emerging and turban markets which has gone massively but the habit of sharing at shareit has also increased so people still use the app people still like to share uh they still bring the high recommendations and and quality of the apps what then help a lot of game Publishers a lot of game advertisers to look at our platform and
to to build the higher user acquisition Journeys and that's what we do for them fantastic so people will obviously be familiar with these kinds of systems even if they haven't used share it specifically so everyone's got their own version whether it's apple and airdrop or you know people sharing G Drive links or whatever else we are the airdrop for Android for Android effectively yeah so it gives them that direct connection as you say Obviously one of the things that people might question with anything like this is data and the safety of that kind of connection because whenever you're transferring anything there's always an element of risk how do you deal with that and ensure everything is safe and sound good question two things things when we look at a user to download the app a user app we are an open app we do not need sign-ins I will not ask you for a Gmail ID or a or a mobile number to really or your what's your age what's your behaviors what's your birthday is nothing you're an open app so one that defines that
we don't look at user data to to bring about any security or any data which we further utilize for the user of the user through our app you don't do that the mobile ID of a user is is the user ID for us and that's how we really operate with about two and a half billion Global users today and about 150 countries with about 45 languages we are a big product we are we're a large app we are the eighth most downloaded app till now globally on Android so we always think that and and the question is right by you that Europe nordics region has not heard about us and that's where we are we want to now make inroads in this region this is the first participation at a formal participation at at PGC uh Helsinki and we're also going to London in January uh and and just to Showcase that what and how and what we do actually uh we've had
global global clients working with us for the last two to three years and maybe four years uh and these are always on plans especially in the gaming World from looking at casual to hyper casual to skill games to real money to betting uh we have we have all of them today if you look at within the gaming categories from Europe us Israel turkey India uh overall we should have more than 150 to 200 games running on our ecosystem we have about more than thousand advertisers uh who work on us and who work with us and these are these are Brands and always on brands who who trust us today with our with and and I could name a few right uh in the gaming industry there was player experium King Voodoo uh by throw we work with tab Nation we work with uh and many many many more Azure maybe uh Elian we're looking forward to work with with many
Clips with Rovio so are these These are supercell now these are the brands which which are already there they work with large ecosystems and that's where we want to bring to them the utility of shareit and the journeys of how we can actually bring good set of quality users to them who are who are beneficial for their either in-app purchase or ads Revenue product well speaking of Journeys everyone's been through quite an interesting one over the past couple of years with a global pandemic setting in and suddenly people forced to be trapped inside and may be unable to engage in the communication that we would normally be accustomed to doing and as a result we saw a lot more mobile engagement I talked to a lot of AD networks and folks here and they say suddenly everything just shot through the roof though you might not scrape a lot of like personal user data in that way I'm sure that you saw some interesting metrics during that time absolutely I think last two years have been difficult for a lot of people
and good also for a lot of people uh good because people got time people got to spend time with with themselves with their families with their loved ones and but with people also lost a lot of people right so let's talk about the good part of it now we've seen a lot of that already when people got a lot of time to spend but themselves we saw increase in many many things one the pandemic really increased a large set of usage of mobile in daily life it could be it could be Basics by ordering on an Ecom platform Basics on delivery Basics on medicine delivery and then they got time and what they had to do in time is play games Look at video content that's how big gaming companies we saw massive expansion massive user Journeys and massive growth
in their Acquisitions and I think it has really worked very well for us and share it we have been growing massively in last four to five years and we see a good mix of new products really coming in which we will grow and and we are we are believed to now work in tier one markets like U.S like like Europe and we want to really expand our footprint with our direct teams working in these regions now so that's the goal for kind of in the 2022-23 your brain 100 bringing it to the rest of the world we are we are expanding right so we we also want to use this platform to really look at the qualities the right set of people who can be with us work with us bring the right footprint of uh of advertisers on board and also take uh share it to the right set of people [Music] foreign
SHAREit functions as a global peer-to-peer file-sharing platform designed to facilitate the seamless transfer of digital content, including documents, videos, and large mobile applications, between devices in close proximity. Positioned as an Android-based equivalent to Airdrop, the service operates offline by utilizing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology, allowing users to transfer files of significant size—such as multi-gigabyte games—without requiring mobile data. The platform emphasizes a user-centric model that prioritizes privacy by functioning as an open application that does not require personal sign-ins, user profiles, or the collection of sensitive personal data.
The platform serves as a significant performance-based advertising channel, particularly within the gaming, e-commerce, fintech, and travel sectors. By leveraging the human tendency to recommend content to peers, the service enables high-quality user acquisition for game developers. Because recommendations occur directly between users, the platform’s engagement metrics remain agnostic of traditional last-click attribution models, providing a unique environment for advertisers to reach audiences. Currently, the ecosystem supports over 1,000 advertisers and hosts between 150 and 200 active gaming titles, ranging from hyper-casual to mid-core and real-money gaming.
With a global footprint spanning 150 countries and supporting 45 languages, the platform reports approximately 2.5 billion users and ranks as one of the most downloaded applications on the Android operating system. While historically focused on emerging markets, the company is actively expanding its presence into Tier 1 markets, including Europe and North America. This strategic growth follows a period of accelerated mobile engagement during the global pandemic, which saw significant increases in gaming and digital content consumption. Moving forward, the organization aims to establish direct teams in these regions to further integrate its sharing utility into the global mobile gaming ecosystem.
