Gamecity Hamburg facilitates local industry growth by offering free booth packages for Hamburg-based developers at the Polaris 2023 convention. The initiative aims to provide studios and independent teams with a platform to showcase games, prototypes, and demos to a broad audience, enabling direct engagement with target demographics during the three-day event held from October 13 to 15, 2023.
The support package includes a dedicated space at a joint booth, necessary hardware, two exhibitor tickets per team, USK clearing, inclusion in the Indie Polaris lineup, and a preparatory workshop. To qualify, applicants must be commercially oriented, maintain a headquarters or branch office in Hamburg, and possess a playable version of a game that does not yet have a publisher. Participants are required to commit to exhibiting for the full duration of the convention.
Selection for the program is determined by a jury following the application deadline of August 28, 2023. This effort is part of a broader series of initiatives by Gamecity Hamburg designed to support the local games ecosystem through funding, networking, and promotional opportunities. By lowering the barrier to entry for public exhibitions, the program assists developers in gaining visibility and gathering essential user feedback within the competitive gaming, e-sports, and pop culture sectors.
