OG Esports has officially entered the mobile esports sector by joining the Honor of Kings ecosystem as a partner team for the Western Europe region in 2025. This strategic move marks the organization’s first foray into mobile gaming, aligning with a broader corporate objective to expand into emerging titles and strengthen its presence within the Chinese market.
The partnership serves as a key component of OG Esports' growth strategy under the leadership of CEO Daniel Sanders, who previously held senior roles at Tencent Games. By securing this partnership, the organization aims to position itself as a leader in the development of the Honor of Kings competitive scene in the West. The move also deepens the professional relationship between the organization and Tencent, the developer of the title.
Honor of Kings remains a dominant force in the mobile MOBA landscape, underscored by its inclusion in the Esports World Cup, which featured a $3 million prize pool for the 2024 competition. For OG Esports, this expansion represents a significant shift in its competitive focus, moving beyond its traditional stronghold in PC-based titles like Dota 2. The organization intends to leverage its extensive experience in professional gaming to cultivate its new division, with co-founder Johan “Notail” Sundstein emphasizing the importance of applying the team's established expertise to this new competitive environment.
